Vali's Bow

Just curious if anyone has put in time camping Eastern Shadow since last update. I'm never going to rest easy until I have this bow or at least have the floors ES appears on in Nyzul Isle (what floor he potentially shows up on is unknown at this point, it seems).

Has the spawn rate changed at all in Fei'yin?

Hmm, an I reading it wrong or does Vali's Bow have the same stats as the Eurytos' Bow?

Haven't really looked at Bows in a while since getting Eurytos' Bow, next planned stuff for me was O-Bow and the Dynamis weapons.

16-32+ hours
18-19 hours window and the next day will become 23-24 hours window..
as far as my experience camping 6 pops of ES consecutively

You know what, screw camping, screw hoping ES pops in Nyzul.

I just found E-Bow was added to a BCNM (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Brothers_D%27Aurphe)

I have well over 650+ seals between my two characters, the perk of being a BST. I'm just gonna go for it this way (and hope I have enough left over to BC a K Club).

You could also get Cross counters from the same BCNM.

Sucked it up and camped ES tonight.

First hour was just me. Nothing special happened, just killind shades.

Hour Two, another guy shows up. A 75 WAR/THF. Makes a lot of small talk, starts talking about teaming up, lotting the Vali's and selling and splitting if its E-Bow (suuuuuure you would split). This is where I start ignoring the small talk. I was was playing FFVI Advance in beteen recording ToDs, I didn't really care, I'm in the World of Ruin and have Cyan and Gau to find.

Hour three, he gives up after realizing I'm not going to cooperate with him, much less talk. Another 48 minutes of killing and waiting. TPed on some bats and now I'm downloading MP3s and finally making it up Mount Zozo in FFVI.

After getting my ass kicked by the dragon boss on the mountain, I look up and there's Mr. Eastern Shadow. I put down my DS and pounce, for that is what mithra do.

I... forgot to put up shadows, so whatever that thing was he was swinging, it really hurt. Looked like some sledghammer. I sidewinder him, put up shadows, Barrage, Sidewinder and EES him.

Vali's Bow drops, done deal. Now I can save those seals for the Kraken Club BCNM. :thumbsup:

I managed to get Vali's Bow on my 3rd kill. I started camping on a Saturday and finally got the drop on the Thursday. I had to leave my char logged in so I could calculate the ToD if someone else killed it while I was at work/asleep, but in the end he never spawned while I was away.

However I can verify that the spawn times for Eastern Shadow while I was waiting for him were between 17-29 hours, and I was always around to kill the PH after the 16th hour so that 29 hours one wasn't just because no-one was killing the PH.

Just as well the bow dropped on the 3rd try because I was not going to try any longer after that, with such a random spawn time its a killer.

kitten, you should be at least a little more trusting of other players.

I recently camped Profblix, there was another group there camping, I invited them to join with the condition that if it dropped we would lot for it, and that's exactly what happened. He lotted first, got 989, I lotted for 300 something. I could've easily turned on QM, but just because people can screw you over doesn't mean they will.

feba you and a random person who says ya if i get ill give you gil from my ebow are different people. I got offered to team up on it multiple times i dont trust ne one and i could link a post about the kid who wanted to team up with me(long story short he screwed over 2 people)

Sure, not everyone is a crook, but I've been through this song and dance with Joyeuse amoung other things. I get the ToDs, help kill the NM and they win the lot and they don't come back to help when its my turn.

I'm sooo done with that on coveted items from run-of-the-mill NMs.

I didn't need help. I'd blink and these placeholder shades would die while he would have taken three minutes to kill one. I would have done all the DD and tanking. So where in there does he deserve a lot? He had claim ability his side, but not survivability and knowing this, he logged out since I wouldn't team with him.

It wasn't but 15 minutes after I got the drop that RMT swarmed the place. Maybe they were out on their smoke break too long or their internet was down, but they rushed in like bats out of hell.

I have no regrets :P
