I guess this question isn't entirely related to NIN, its more to do with some merit decisions I'm struggling with. I may work NIN further before I really decide on anything, but here goes:

How much more would I be getting out of evasion skill vs. evasion gear? Current jobs for kitten are COR, RNG and then NIN and PUP in the future. Right now, I don't know where the last two stand in the pecking order. RNG and COR have nice overlap in the marksmanship category, but things get tricky with NIN and PUP in the works. They bring in Evasion, katana and H2H, which is problematic.

So I'm just curious how much evasion merits would add. At this point, I see NIN more for soloing, fun and a utility job for when a tank is needed in missions or events. I'm unsure if I'd be doing it as a serious main for endgame and such.

I guess a side question would be if investing katana skill would actually be better than evasion skill.

evasion skill does help alot IMO seems to truely have a bigger effect then just eva+. I lvled ninja from 37-75 with 2 evasion merits (+4 in skill). And the biggest impact was at 70 when i equiped my boxer's mantel, nin became 100 times easier. Evasion Merits will directly effect your shadow life and ur mages mp, while Katana merit (a need NIN75) will barely help you (took my katana merits out last night and decided to sink them back into polearm). I would suggest going with eva due to the fact it helps all your jobs.
