Like if a Black Mage were to sub Dark Knight, wouls his soft cap in Scythes go up by any amount?

Nope. Skill caps are based soley on your Main Job. SJ Traits like Evasion Bonus can effect your skills, but work behind-the-scenes and do not effect your displayed cap.

Well, in a way they do raise your skill cap, but only if the 1/2 skill from subjob is higher then the full amount from main(Such as a BLM subbingt RDM)

But there's no way a sub will have more skill than the main job's native skill (unless the main has no skill at all that is).

Like a SMN75/WHM37 would have 114 healing (if the sub's skill is capped) because SMN has 0 native skill, but even F native skill (189) would be 75 points higher than the sub's at that lvl.

Hmm... That is true I guess...

I wonder at level 1 if someone had capped E skill subbed job with same capped skill but A, if they would get skill level A...

I don't see why not, but after lvl 2 native skill would take over so it wouldn't be of much use (if any). :wasted:

That's one of the reasons many recomend going /MNK for lvls 1-5, specially on mage jobs.

So basically, the answer is "it can, but if it does, your native skill is gimped?"

If so, thanks, it's what I wanted to know ^_^ .
