newb BST at 20

Hey guys i just dinged 20 within an XP pt (Dont ask me why lol) and i currently have

Weapon: Battleaxe
Shield: D.Shield (Decusion)
Legs,hand,body (Bone armor)
Head: Noble's Ribbin
Ring: 2x Hope Rings
Neck: Bird Whistle
Belt: Warrior Belt

and i was wondering what good BCNM i can do ? with couple of friends ? atm i want to farm up much cash for next 15 levels (Jugs + Food) before Leave command
and also upto 40 (Rivine Access + Luf Field) and where nice place to level within 20-35 ? I was wondering to continue as BST/WAR till 35 after i do couple BCNM runs ?

Why /war? /whm is best for soloing bst. As far as bcnms go "Wings of Fury" it is possible to solo if you are careful but it is much easier with friends. 20-22 I was in the dunes solo and 23-30 I was in Qufim Island. At 29 I charmed and 2 hr. the Kraken and completely raped the dunes (That was alot of fun, running around Qufim telling everyone to watch out the Kraken was coming and stopping to watch the pts fight. The emote were hilarious to read too.)

Wings of Fury, a 3 bat 20 cap BCNM in Ghelsba is very safe with 3 BSTs. With the right gear, food, and strategy, you could even solo it. But it would require quite a gil investment, which is the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish.

Yeah, BSTs pretty much own Wings of Fury. You can charm the Lesser Galayas and send them against the main bat, Duo BST and SMN work out well too.

/nin is a better subjob imo before you can use stoneskin (i forget when that is, lv.46?) the amount of curing you can do with /whm is better offset with 3 shadows, which also improves downtime since you wont have to stop for mp.

after that, /whm just gives too many goodies to pass up.

Wings of Fury basically. I'm taking my retired Galka and leveling his BST to 21(for buffer) simply to do this mostly because I have 180 seals on him that I never used, so thats basically 9 attempts on his own. Although I'll be duoing it with my brother whose also going as a 20 BST, so we'll need less consumables for the fight and I have someone I can trust to split the profits with if we actually get lucky and get a few Astrals out of this.

Unless the party needs a backup provoke or you're tanking, you don't need to use /WAR during level 20 to 29. You can use /RNG for Accuracy Bonus, /NIN for 10% increase in DoT output via Dual Wield, or /DRG for Attack Bonus and Jump.

Even BST/BRD for Paeon is more useful than /WAR when provoke isn't necessary. After the Signet update, BST/WHM would become viable at low level as well, since you'd be able to rest between fights for MP without sacrificing TP.

i exp /nin for dual weild even solo /nin. i have 2 sets a chr set for charm and a straight out dd set. also everyone asking him why /war in exp maybe he doesnt have ne other subs beside whm =P

I just got Stoneskin back at 56, I only really rest for MP now, I hardly cured myself before then, Blink and Regen pretty much cover me and the 49 MP from Gaudy always seems to cover me well enough.

I honestly see no need for /NIN solo now unless its in a zone heavy in magic aggro or an EXP PT, but I'd still prefer /WAR in EXP PTs pre-rune axe.

Overall, both NIN and WHM have a place in solo, so if you want the best solo options, I'd level both. /NIN proved really handy in my time EXPing in Riverne Site#A01 and would also be good against efts in Bibki Bay in the mid-30s. Any mob with Dispel is a time I'd sub /NIN since shadows and Regen are the first thing Dispel usually hits (unless we're talking high-tier wyverns, that dispel is random).

When facing a Dispel mob, Regen is first in line to be dispelled, after that Utsusemi is next. Reraise can be dispelled, so you want to guard that buff at all costs, that's when you go /NIN. Carrying Selbina Milks for Regen also helps considerably since it can help reduce downtime - its very cheap too.

Once you get of the level to use Reraise earrings , always keep one on you or other RR items at the very least. This will save you from having to HP a lot.

Yep, lvl 31 is a grind and it sucks. I think I grinded it out until 33 or something while LFP, then got an invite until 35. Went out the next night to solo with flag up, got into a great static pt that was quite well tuned and they took me until 1k to 37.

You should have a stack or more of Beastmen's Seal now; go find a BST friend or two and do some runs of BCNM20 (Wings of Fury?). It's a fun to get a little Gil.

Or, charm some DC/EM pets, and wipe out EP's and TW's in farming area. (They do the work, you get the drops...)

1) Don't have a pet around (see "Leave").
2) Kill the mob.

If you want fast exp, look for suicidal mobs, such as Bombs and Goblins. I think you're at the level range where you can do quite well in Yuhtunga/Yhoator doing Gobs.

But be warned, faster also means riskier. Faster = less safe. Slower = more safe.

Note: the skill of solo BST-ing is picking the camp that works best for you. Now that you have Leave, there's no reason to keep falling back on Jug Pets. Sae your TP. Wait for the mob to be down to a sliver of life. Release your pet, and hit your WS macro.

If you're looking for fast EXP and high levels very quickly, Beastmaster is not the job for you. You might seek PTs and you may very well get them, but that's the only way you're going to get faster EXP.

I did Riverne Site #A01 around your level (maybe at 39-42) and it wasn't fast, but it was very profitable. Before I did Riverne #A01 I did Bibiki bay, which anyone can access. After I did Riverne, I moved to Attowah Chasm, another all-access area.

So maybe Bibiki Bay to 39 >> Riverne #A01 to 42 >> Attowah Chasm to 45 in that order.

Please refer to The Beastmaster Anthologies (http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/beastmaster-anthologies/56263-index-read-me-first.html) for all your levelling questions (reading hurts, I know, but we must endure it to survive this world). BST takes time to level - lots of time - and even if those guides give you the level range your looking for, the camp itself might not be to your personal liking. There are slow levels for BST and they come at many points in the game, you can either stick with it, seek a PT or find another job to play.

i think you will have to get used too aggro from now. i'm currently 54 and leveling in garalaige citadel funnel bats vs funnel bats or chamber beetles. could be better exp if the beetles wouldn't do rino guard all the time.

If the party was there first, I would say you should move.

If you were there first, and have {Pet} and {Target} and {Camp} info in your search comments, just say you were there first, and ask the party to move to elsewhere instead.

I did and they said to shut up and tells me to leave after i asked them to move camp :( man people on my server are really i'll mannered >.< so anyway trying GC and i kinda liking the xp ^^
