View Full Version : Teleporting trick...

I shouted for a Teleport and the WHM who offered performed a neat little trick. I ended up alone (o.O) in Xarcabard, while he stayed behind in Jeuno.

I just thought I'd share with all White Mages who perform Teleporting services.

At 75% of his casting, he zoned...

That's it. :D

I don't know how CLOSE he was to the zone (Mog House in this case), but feel free to experiment. Saves you the trouble to Teleporting yourself as well, and having to Warp back.

Tele-taxists have been doing this since before I started playing though (almost 3 years ago).

But it's still is a nice trick if you tele someone near zone.

Well, I've been playing for that amount of time and this was the first time I've seen it done.

Seems to me you might have to work on the timing though, just so you don't end up zoning and screwing up the casting of your spell. I don't know, I think I'll have to try it though.

Mine is even better.

My Whm Mule doesn't have XCB crystal xD

She ends up where she casts everytime.

Just don't do this if you have customers in your party headed to two different tele-points. Some of your customers might be miffed that their tele-taxi driver isn't there to take them to their final stop :P

"Oh, why yes officer, traffic was too heavy on the Whitegate-Mea-Xarcabard crystal line so I decided to stay in my HP."

...

"Well, I'm sorry if passengers don't know how to travel from Mea to Xarcabard, going there just wasn't MP-cost effective for me.

AND I didn't even charge them for the tele to Mea, they even ended on the right region of Vana (kinda) for free!"

I'm thinking on starting a career as a TSP (Transportation Service Provider).

I have it perfected. I stand right next to the zone line and as soon as my toon's hand raises (from spell cast), I run to the zone. I usually have it so close that he takes no more than three steps to zone.

This is most useful in situations where I am teleporting somebody but I want to stay where I am.

Example: I'm in Sandy doing WW guild items, someone is shouting Teleport-Mea 10k, but my HP is in Aht Urhgan. I want to stay in Sandy to finish my work, but I'd also like to collect an easy 10k. I meet them at the nearest zone, collect my money, do this trick, and be on my merry way.

-----

I like to joke that I'm going to start a BLM teleport service.
"Buy a Teleport, Get a D2 free!"

It is a pretty useful trick...however I didn't know about it until a friend told me, very nice when you have lots of competition for teleports.

However, It's kind of a bother trying it in Whitegate. It's so laggy outside the Mog House, sometimes it messes up and I get teleported anyways, or I go too early trying to beat the lag and end up just zoning :wasted:

I never heard that before, I can see it being pretty useful, I often have to refuse requests because my hp is elsewhere and I need to stay where I cam. Thanks for sharing.

I know someone who leveled his mule to 42Whm/21Blm, got all the scrolls for the Holla, Mea, Dem, Yhoat, Altep and Xarcabard and just never got the Tele-Crystal. He doesn't even have to bother with zoning or such.... that's just a bit farther than I think most would take it, but it works for his tele'ing purposes, which is the only reason he leveled his mule to 42 in the first place XD

I heard that they somehow removed it, so I'm happy that its still there, I was going to try it once. (actually, I tried casting warp while casting tele, Almost worked, needed like .5 seconds left lol)

Maybe he thinks about interrupting the first one while starting the 2nd one.
Still doesn't make sense though since the first (interrupted) one won't do anything to him.

Never managed to get this to work, nor seen any other WHM use it on my server.

Heard the rumours, but would like someone who has attempted to use / used it this month to confirm please.

I was with a WHM who actually did it. It's not a rumor if I witnessed it myself.

And what does this month have to do with it?

Part of me kinda hates when things like this get reposted, but then there's a lot of people who benefit from old knowledge like this being dug up.

Maybe FFXIO should have a "FFXI Tip:" bar across the top of the screen, with a random factoid or cool little trick every time the page is refreshed. It's a simple enough script, just steal it from Taskmage's sig.

I absolutely love this idea. Hell, it could even replace the live cam for all I care, as that is one boring piece of videography right there.

The reason I asked for this month, was so I would know SE hasn't fixed this 'bug'. No offense meant.

There could be other explanations for what you saw - he may have zoned, but he may also not have had the crystal.

It is hard to attempt this with paying customers, as you could zone without teleporting them, but I will have another go.

WHM70, Rank8... I think it's safe to say he had that crystal.
