My smn is lv 44 which i loved smn and still love smn. With backup healing i dont mind but i like to be more dd
My Black mage is lv 56 which i also love but i get tired of soloing with no partys. I had to solo from lv 49-56. I love killing stuff to. I just dont know what to do.

You don't have to choose one job over the other, but the way things are right now you are gonna have to build your own parties as a BLM if invites are slow.
In my case I haven't partied with a BLM since lvl 72 or something, back when people used to roam in Sky. Although that was because most BLMs had "Manaburn only" in their search comment at the time.
And after that people seemed to just forgot BLM existed when making parties. Kinda what happens with BSTs, that you don't even consider them when thinking about party setups.
But right now BSTs are starting to get into parties way more often than they used to.
So, I think my point is lvl both jobs if you like them, just be aware that some might be easier to lvl than others depending on how you do things.
Blm, keep PT flag up while you solo. And put in your search comment that your homepoint is (and should be) in Whitegate. While BLM is not a popular choice, they still get a decent invite rates there actually.
SMN is a tough one : /
I've merit with SMN a few times, and they are not bad actually. If you can time your BP to keep haste up 100% of the time, people will love you.

With the amount of TP-Burn parties these day, you'll be hard pressed to be invited to a party unless you're lucky. I've watched party leader turn down BLM's left and right, just to look for a WAR/NIN, or SAM/THF. Those are the two major contenders, with MNK/WAR being next in line. There's occassions we get DRK/NIN too because of their JA/Rampage. Mostly though, these TP-burn parties seem to stay on the 8K and up xp range, usually having RDM/BRD and a NIN.
Unless you find an average party that has a PLD or something, any TP-Burn party is going to potentially pass you up for a Melee'er. Granted, this isn't the rule set in stone, but it seems to be the "trend" no less.
This is from my own experience anyway and its slightly disheartening, because I want to play a Galka BLM later and I am not looking forward to it now. lol
As far as SMN, I haven't partied with a SMN since level 40. But that could be because I am always main healing/refreshing/hasting everyone w/ a brd or cor and there just isn't room in some pts for a smn.
