Hello, i was wondering if anyone could give advice on what to do in exp parties when not playing the healer role.
i do not have Fenrir, or Diabolos yet, i want to get those as Smn, and i want to make sure that i am doing the most i can to help the party.
any advice/tips would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.

Hiya
Buffs are good also get in some Magic Bursts,
Hastega is always a nice boost and Magic Bursts are good especialy when you have TP to crank some damage out,
I'm on a break at moment so not 100% sure about other things I quit and came bk as 54 smn so getting cash from teles atm

Depending on the setup you're in the following buffs to help your healerand party out immensely.
Hastega (Garuda): Pretty nice as the full party gets it, however the effect will only last 1:30 without capped summoning magic skill.
But with the implementation of split Blood Pact catagories this one comes into play as usable to save the healer some MP.
Earthen Ward (Titan): Party Stoneskin, will help melee take less damage from AoE, helps the ninja (If that is your tank) take a hit in between casting when shadows are down.
Rolling Thunder (Ramuh): Enthunder for the whole party, extra thunder damage on melee hits will help take monsters down faster.
Especially when fighting crabs which are pretty weak to Thunder.
The DD part:
Meteorite (Carbuncle): A pretty potent nuke at those levels, can do quite some damage on a magic burst on Fusion and damage potency is calculated on Carbuncle's TP and resist rate.
Double Slap (Shiva): When both hits connect this Pact can deal quite impressive damage, next to that it's a good opener/closer for a distortion skillchain.
Tier IV nukes come into play when you reach level 60, less potent then a blm's but still do some nice damage on a magic burst.

Everything Shirai mentioned is the truth.
You'll really love getting Shiva at 50 and using Double Slap and then Carbuncle's Meteorite later at 55 which can be bursted. With HQ Light Staff, I've seen a SMN burst on it for 400+.
Also to mention, Spring Water is a godsend for certain times when you need to erase debuffs and heal the party. You'll use this one also if you have no WHM and you're playing SMN w/party vs Cockatrice lol (not advised but doable.)
SMN LV45+ really starts to get very interesting and good. You don't have to support-heal on a consistent basis. You can magic burst, megaheal or megahaste, and even use debuff's like Gravity and Slowga lol. Then later when you get the higher end BPs... you really start smokin lol.
That's the cool thing about the SMN job. It's WHM, RDM, BLM rolled into one. It really is. And these days, with the ability to use WARD and RAGE bloodpacts.... o.O talk about hawt stuff lol
If there's no Rdm or Whm, try to keep hastega up as much as possible.
Other than that, I really like the stat boost. I don't care much about accuracy/evasion boost.

Accuracy boost helps everyone. At that level you're either in Kuftal or Cape Terrigan. Everyone hates those crabs and pugils... Hi evasion.

I had the most requests for the ACC+Evasions buff than anything else playing SMN. Especially in high octane xp parties w/NIN set up. It was that, Hastega, and Stoneskin... and pretty much it. ....... lol
You tend to get really sick of hearing and seeing Fenrir being summoned though, after a while.
