Most of us know that Raise should only be used on people under level 50, as RII and RIII have the same effect of RI on people under level 50. If you were unaware of this, you are now, so you don't need to waste MP .
However, this topic is concerning the use of RII or RIII in conjunction with Divine Seal. I've heard by a few people in game that Divine seal removes the level cap when using RII or RIII on people under 50. I'm not seeing any information about this at all in the FFXI wiki on any of the Raise pages, or the Divine Seal page.
So, is this all just speculation and rumor, or may there be some truth to it??

I would highly doubt that for a couple reasons. While Raise is under healing magic, it doesn't get the cure potency increases from nobles tunic or light staff.
ex. Raise3 returns 50% of weakend hp, so one would think that with another 20% potency from gear you would end up with more that 50% of your hp. though that isn't the case.
Another reason is that Divine Seal by definition only increases the cure potency of your next spell, and this changes with when Divine Veil is an option, and it makes your next effect remover an AoE spell.
But that doesn't by any means proves the statement is wrong, perhaps thier is a hidden effect to Divine Seal + Raise that we don't know about. But I would doubt that it is true. I have been told though by a level 12ish char that I R3ed in the dunes lost very little exp (though I didn't lose divine seal) however, she had moghancment: experience so I just contributed it to that as opposed to R3.
But even though I know that R2/3 doesn't give back more exp pre-50 I still use it for the extra HP it gives them and just because it looks cool. I'm a taru with close to 1200mp, I don't care about the wasted mp :P
Divine seal doesn't affect Raise. No.

It's still precious to see WHMS use DS/RaiseX though. It reminds me of my youth...
I thought that Mog:XP only worked if you homepointed and didn't work otherwise? What is the skinny on that? lol

Divine Seal does not affect any Raise spell in any way, and never has. I don't know where this rumor came from but it is long past time when it died a horrible death.

I didn't know it still existed, even. I hadn't heard anyone say that earnestly in years. Huh.

It's been said, but can't be said enough.

Ok, ok, chill. I didn't believe it was true either, and actually debated with the person that told me this. I just needed outside verification.

And to the question posed of whether or not Moghancement: Experience has an effect on xp if you get a raise: No. It only procs if you homepoint.

And to the question posed of whether or not Moghancement: Experience has an effect on xp if you get a raise: No. It only procs if you homepoint. I'm pretty sure SE made a change to that. Now you get the benefit of Mog:XP whether you HP or get a Raise. If no one beats me to it, I'll look for the Playonline link tomorrow...
Edit: ok, looks like it was always supposed to work in conjunction with Raise.

"The help text of the key item Moghancement: Experience, which stated that the item did not have any effect on Raise spells, has been corrected."

Ooooh...
I had a feeling that it looked like it was working... because I lost a tiny amount of XP with it on and getting a R2 at LV50 several days ago.
Sweet! Then I won't reorganize my moghouse now. I mean all those beds in there just makes it look like a bed and breakfast......................
