remove chocobo abilities?

hey just wondering if anyone out there know if you can remove a chocobos ability like : gallop" please let me know thank you

I don't think you can either. I am planning on raising another high discernment chocobo to learn the bore, burrow, and/or treasure hunter abilities.

Giving me some flexibility on chococards for people who want specific abilities to be bred into their bird.

Gallop and Canter are both racing abilities so they have no use outside of the racing circuit that is will be coming someday.

I am hoping to bred in one or both abilities to a physical focus bird to use on the racing circuit.

They are like statistical enhancement Job Abilities that can push your chocobos statistics above the maximum. I'm not sure this has been confirmed yet, but a short race between two 1st Strength chocobos one with Gallop one without would quickly put it to rest. Obviously Canter is simply a matter of timing how long the chocobo lasts in the field.

I've heard that a Parasite Worm does get rid of all abilities & it resets the stats to poor. Dont want to test this out myself though. <.>

Hmm I had always heard they were racing abilities. Will have to delve further into that.

But I am happy to report that one of my LS mates who wanted gallop for his new bird was happy that by breeding his with my high int bird, hatched knowing gallop.

Perhaps time to retire my current birds and start the next generations.
4th gen on main char and 2nd gen on mule.

If those abilities increase speed, then that should be exactly what you want for racing.

Gallop is for speed, Canter is for endurance so sayeth the wiki, though I haven't seen any data, so I'm still skeptical--Wikis have a tendency to be 1/2 conjecture 1/2 fact.

Given how race tracks where in Chocobo racing games.... you think the bird should be smart to run around properly? >.> Maybe that can be a new twist to this whole racing thing.

welp thanks guys for the input i am gonna have to breed minen wit another hi mental stata..
p.s did the parisite worm and 3 days later i saw no changes in my bird....
