Any race can play COR well. So just pick the race you like the most.

a healthy mix of STR and AGI for the gun WS maybe, but other than that, anything. COR isn't particularly stat dependent.
most CORs go /rng

Galka make perfectly suitable MNKs. CORs too.

Okay, a couple o' days ago i asked what race i should pick. And now, from reading on the forum and seeing all the hardcore gamers talking about stats and stuff, i'm starting to get scared..
I chose a Galka, cause i heard they were good Mnk's, and i hear Mnks's were fast leveling and so.. I only wanted to rush thru Mnk so i could be Corsair, but now i'm a little confused about being a Galka ranged attacker.. If i got it right the rolls doesn't depend on any stats, rather on pure luck (and that is probably one of the strongest reasons why i sould play corsair.), but when it comes to the ranged strikes..
Ok, i'm gonna try to make it as easy as possible to answer this..
1. Is the only pro with Galka that you have more HP then other races?
2. Will I get party invites?
3. Will i do ANY damage campared to other races?
I would be glad if anyone could give me a simple, yet informative, answer!

I don't think Corsair is tilted heavily towards any race. Not to worry.
Galka should do just fine. They have above average Strength (which helps your ranged damage - don't let anyone tell you otherwise!), and average Agility (for ranged accuracy and Quick Draw accuracy), so you're not really at any disadvantage compared to other races.
I'd advise you to be careful about rushing to Corsair though - it's by far the most expensive job as far as EXPing is concerned, due to the high cost of ammunition (bullets). You may find yourself at a disadvantage in this sense as a new player since it is unlikely that you'll have the personal resources to spend what the job demands in consumable ammo.

(merged your threads since they're basically the continuation of the other)
1. yes. highest HP and VIT
2. as COR, sure. as galka COR, sure. again, race does not matter for COR
3. repeat after me, race does not matter for COR ;)
(yes)

Corsair really doesn't have any abilities that are drastically influenced by race, after all, they are considered a support class. The only real difference between Corsair and a Bard is Corsair is afforded more melee opportunities thanks to their focus on Guns.
The only possible downside for COR by race would be that Galka or Elvaan would have lower AGI than the other races, which is one of the jobs leading stats. But its not a big downside by any means, there's lots of Agility and Ranged Accuracy gear out there to aid you.
But preparing for Corsair is a long, hard path. You're starting out monk, which isn't a bad place to start, when you hit 18 in Monk and unlock subjob access, you can then start Warrior and take it to 30 and unlock Corsair around that level.
Warrior is key here, because it will aid you in levelling the next two jobs you'll want to unlock for Corsair's subjobs - Ranger and Ninja. But these two jobs require a lot of gil to maintain and level, so you'll want to discipline yourself to take some time of from levelling up jobs to farm materials and sell them. You'll also want to save beastmen seals for fights known as BCNMs (basically a small instanced battle where you can potentially get some really good loot to use or sell).
Fame will also be important as it will allow you to quest ninjutsu scrolls for the Ninja job. There are two repeatable quests in Windurst (Mihgo's Amigo) and Bastok (Beauty and the Galka) that will make that fame easier to get earlier on, though the do require quite a bit of spamming..
Ninja as a support job will allow you to avoid damage through as spell called Utsusemi and Dual wield weapons. This is nice because various Daggers througout the game give ranged accuracy bonuses which you'll need.
Warrior will aid your Ninja levelling because Ninjas are invited to tank most of the time in this game. You'll have no trouble getting parties, but its expensive to upkeep for newer players and there are many other spells you'll need to support your tanking ability.
Both Warrior and Ninja will prepare you to level Ranger. Expense on RNG is pretty low for the levels you'd be looking, but armor is cheap for RNG as well. I'd say you'd never spend more than 500k to get to 37, possibly less.
Ranger's advantage as a subjob is more due to the fact that you'll net two accuracy bonuses from the job, the Sharpshot ability and Barrage. You'll be able to land shots more often and able to deal more damage in the long run with /RNG.
Another subjob to consider is WHM, but it's not a major requirement for Corsairs in EXP to use it, though it can be nice at early levels and in certain party setups. This one is easier and cheaper to work out early, since you don't have to unlock White Mage or Black Mage, they're default starter jobs anyway. /WHM is at its strongest when you're at high level and working in mage-oriented PTs.
If all this seems a bit overwhelming, well, MMOs are just like that. Its is a lot of work and effort to get the best out of Corsair, but in the end its worth it and I love this job more than any other.

Don't try to learn every tiny bit at once, lol. You'll get the hang of it with a bit of practice. Keep in mind that you'll need to keep a good supply of ammo (and cards at the appropriate level) so don't spend your gil carelessly.
Race really doesn't matter. In my opinion, race may effect stats pretty decently but it's mostly for looks. Every race-job combo has its advantages, so don't be discouraged. Have fun. ^.^

They are are just hardcore ignorant trolls.
really, pick what you want. ESPECIALLY, with cor, you wont have to worry about being lacking in any area.
the very few instances where stats matter (which are totally made up for with equipment) are MP and HP. stats like str, dex, int etc play less and less of a part as you progress through the game.
examples of this: galka/elvaan mages will have a large gap in mp when compared to humes and tarus but, there are tons of mp+ equipment and food. in the end, if you play well, it doesnt matter.
hp for tarus. theres tons of taru tanks out there. taru pld, taru nin. its very doable and with good game play, you can be successful. im a taru nin myself, and i main tanked to 75. there is a taru nin in my ls that main tanks for all our hnm runs too.
just pick what you like the best, and go with it :)
My advice is to pick a character that you like the look of, your favorite face if you will. Don't worry about stats at all as far as race is concerned. People have proven time and time again that race isn't a breaking factor in job choice.
One of the best blackmages I know is an Elvaan (Worst intelligence, second worst MP pool), the best mages in general that I know are Galkan. (Worst MP pool). They've saved my Elvaan Paladin bacon more than I can recount.
No matter the Race/Job combo, it -can- be done. People have become bull-headed and so focused on numbers that the game becomes not-fun, and they become slaves to the stats. If it's not the best then it's nothing.
That's not a very fun rut to be in. The truth is, many different things will work, but for the sake of simplicity people (and I'm guilty of it as well, make no mistake) think that only one particular path is the most effective.
So again, my advice is, pick a race you think would be fun to play, and play from there. It's going to be a time investment no matter what you pick. You won't ever be truly satisfied with your character, I think, unless it's something you think is fun, whether that be an Elf or a Cat-girl, or a tiny TaruTaru or a big hulking Galka or a Human.
The choice is yours, and yours alone to make.

As to go with PTT
When I was my over powering Drk when I kept getting "stop with all the Hate techs," "I am a Pld, not a Magnet," and my all time favorite, "Drk sucks at hate control . . .Goodbye."
There was only one PLD that actually out did every PLD, NIN, and WAR. He was a Taru PLD. He only lost hate for one sec for the mob head to turn. Race doesn't mean a thing in my book, best is to go what you like and what you think is you.
I am a Bald hume, I get made fun of before the population boom, but I am me and will always be the Bald hume ^_^ If you like to be a Galka by all means, be the Galka. But remember showers are a good thing, and please wash your armor before selling on the AH ^_^ lol
I like Cor very interesting and always a new way to learn how to fight with it. Good luck.

I'd like something answered here.
Why why WHY do people say bullets are the most expensive? From what I've gathered they're actually way cheaper than the top-tier arrows, and are fired at a much slower rate, therefor less expenditure over time.
Plus, if you're aclhemy and smithing are high enough you can HQ your own ammo fairly easily.

Well at the time when COR 1st came out the ammo was around 60-100k (stack of the bags) counting on if it was Bronze Bullets or Bullets. . . and now 30k (stack of bags) now I bought also at the time there wasn't very many alchs./smiths running around to over produce the ammo. So the prices of the ammo was expensive at the time. As of now when the jobs been out for alittle while and well since I been away for 3 months I notice the prices of everything (on my server) gone down exp. Scprp Harness 8-10 mil and now 1-3 mil . . . . mouth dropped lol.
