Please post your DRG lvling/subjob strategies here.

I am a lvl 9 WAR that wants to be a DRG, but don't know what jobs to lvl. this is what I am planning to do:

WAR: lvl to 18 then,

THF/WAR: lvl up to 30 then,

DRG/WAR or DRG/THF (I don't know yet) lvl to 60 then,

SAM/WAR: lvl to 37 then finally,

DRG/SAM: lvl to 75

I would do it like this.

war to 18.
mnk/war to 15.
war/mnk to 30.

After that it's entirely up to you. After 30 you'll spend a lot of time leveling up, it won't be quick. So switch around and experiment as you see fit.

Some neat jobs you should have for sub for your DRG includes
war, thf, sam, whm, rdm.

I would rather
1. level mnk to 18.
2. Unlock the quest for subjob.
3. level war/mnk to 37. When war is between level 30 and 37, unlock drg, or unlock other jobs and try them.

IMHO, mnk is easier for beginners. It gives time for the beginners to observe what is involved in a party. When the player go back to level war/mnk, he should be well prepared.

Usually a beginner mnk without a subjob is only expected to deal damage in a party, while a war is expected to tank, pull, or deal damage. To me, it is easier to see how others tank or pull first before I actually have to do it for the 1st time.

Overall, it is useful to level war to 37, thf to 37, whm to 37, nin to 37, because they are useful subjobs for most main jobs. However, there is no need to rush yourself to level all the subjobs at once.

/mnk is a generally accepted sub job for warriors at early level. It is not only useful, it will also give people around you better impression (ie: hey this guy knows what he's doing)

Warrior is an even better tank than Ninja in the level 25-30 range against mandoragora. Counter attack you get from /monk will be hella fun against these guys xD

Personally what i found was easier was
Mnk->18
War->37

then start dragoon seing u can easly lvl drg to 75 with /war will allow you to only have to go back and lvl other subs when you want really.

1-10 : /WHM to keep downtime low.

10-20 : /MNK for more HP and Boost for WS. Otherwise stick to /WAR

20-30: /RNG rocks here for the +10 accuracy trait (which DRG also gets @30)

30-50: /WAR reigns king here. Berserk > Sneak Attack

50-75: You can stick with WAR and do just fine, but now /SAM is also an option
thanks to the recent updates. /THF is again situational, and while it
makes WS like Wheeling Thrust awsome, DRG is more of a DoT class.
Leave the crazy spike dmg WS with /THF to DRK and SAM.
