My white hankerchief.....

So last nite i was handed a white hankerchief from the choco guy in bastok. He told me FlareAvenger (Yes i named her that, i love it!!) was crying loud enough to wake the dead and wanted to be around me. So he handed me it and asked if i could hold on to it for awhile for it to get my scent so i could give it back to FlareAvenger.

anyone know how to advance this story?? I've tried everything i can think of...

Zone out of town and lvl for a bit. I think the wait time it 1 RL day then go back and talk to him again.
