View Full Version : How Many Warp Scrolls?

I bought a warp scroll from one of the gate guards a couple of days ago with my conquest points, and tried to buy a few more too, but on trying to get the next one, I got a message saying that I need to sort out my inventory.

I had more than enough space to hold more than one, so the only thing I could think of, was that you were only able to buy one at a time. Only, I'm quite sure I read in a post a while back that one of the mods (can't remember who) bought a stack of them. So I'm left feeling a bit confused now I think.

How many can you actually have?

You must've mistaken it for the scroll of warp, which is a level 17 blm spell and IS NOT a rare item.

You can only have one scroll of instant warp at a time.

Scrolls of any type (instant, magic, music, spirit pacts, ninjutsu, etc) do not stack. That is a single scroll will consume a single slot in your inventory, six scrolls will consume six slots - even if they're the same kind.

As others have pointed out, Instant Scrolls (Reraise or Warp) are Rare/Ex so you may only have 1 at a time. I believe the Instant scrolls are the only Rare/Ex scrolls in the game.

There are 2 warp scrolls.

Scroll of warp - this is th BLM spell for a lvl 17 blm you can have as many as you want but you would only use one as a BLM to learn.

Instant warp - this is the one from the gate guard it is Rare/EX meaning you can only own one copy of it (this means even if ones not in your inventary but you have one in storage or your Mog House, you still can't get another, I found this out with chest keys which are the same) The advantage of this scroll is it can be used by any job at any level.

If you know you will be warping alot it may be best to get blm up to 17 get a scroll of warp and then sub blm to your job.

So to answer your question. You can only have one copy in your possession at any time.

Thanks for the help guys! :)
It was the scroll of instant warp I was referring to. Only checked it out on somepage later after I'd posted.

The scroll of instant warp is the one you can buy from a gate guard with conquest points, and you can only posess one at a time. I know this now.
Thanks!

Btw - I didn't know you could still use blm warp scrolls if your blm is a sub. (so for e.g. I use thf as main, and I presume I can use blm warp scrolls, obviously with blm at that spell's lvl like you said) That sounds rather handy! Does the same apply with other job's spells too?

So for e.g. say I had paladin as main, and nin as sub. As a pal you would be able to buy any nin scrolls you wanted to use, so long as nin is at the appropriate level for the spell(s) you want to use.

Or as in my case.....
(let's say for solo purposes) I use thf as main, and have whm as sub.
I could buy a few cure 2 spells to help my thf in healing.

I presume this is correct.

I presume this is correct. You would only need to buy one Cure II scroll. The scroll is just to learn the magic. One you have learned it, you can cast it as much as you want.

Same as if you subbed black mage. You need one Warp scroll to learn the spell, then you can warp as much as you want and never have to buy another scroll.

You can use any spell your subjob has learned. A THF1/WHM can cure themselves by casting Cure just like they would as a WHM main. A THF22/WHM11 can cast Cure II on themselves.

You only have to buy magic scrolls once and you know the spell forever. You only have to have your subjob to the appropriate level once you know spells to use them.

Maybe you're not understanding the point of subjobs. When you sub a certain job, you are allowed all the spells and abilities they would normally have at whatever the sub is currently at. So in your example, if your thf is 34+, you can sub blm (assuming it's at least 17+) and use warp, as well as all the spells a blm17 would normally have access to.

Another popular option level 36 and about is the Warp Cudgel (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Warp_Cudgel). These are fairly cheap and offers 30 warps. FFXIAH.com reports that on Fenrir they are around 17k each, that works out at just 566 gil per warp.

I say for the cost go with the blm warp spell(only have to pay it once for alot less money)--anyone if u are going to zone where u will need warp it is probably best to get it for blm anyway(since there will probably be times when u don't have enough conquest points to buy an instant scroll and no-one with warp will be available----besides why waste conquest points on something u will only get 1 use out-of(save them for the better gear selection instead or an experience ring)
