Shield Bash Merits?

I was watching a Paladin on Pandy fighting Steelfleece solo the other day. She was a Mithra Pld/Whm (probably for the quick tele-dem when a friend told her Steel was up). What really surprised me though was the Shield Bashes she was getting on the Giant Ram - 200+ dmg consistently on each of them.

I'm curious if anyone knows how that was achieved? I'm guessing lots of Shield Bash merits? Or is there a shield that does that?

The aegis would have been able to do that according to this site. Also, I thought shield bash merits were just to lower the recast time.

Shield Bash merits don't affect damage as far as I am aware - just recast time, as DrivenTooFar pointed out.

Aegis, Valor Gauntlets, Knightly Earring, and Guardian Ring can all improve Shield Bash damage (Aegis being by far the most potent of these items).

On wiki it says Shield Bash +200 and this guy did 500 on cerberus on my Server I heard, is that actually possible with all of the Shield Bash + gear?

That seems abnormally high. Maybe Cerberus is weak to crushing damage or something?
