OK so im on the other night lvlin NIN and it was getting a bit dry so I 2 houred to Whitegate and changed to PLD/WAR.LS buddy says rep him late but wth set up pld,war/nin,mnk/?,snm/whmx2,blu/?
Not a bad party set up for farming lessers right.......well this is a rant so no.
War=puller fair enough bang voke pull ?no range ...ok
me voke against insane damage = nothing mob dies
Next mob same except this time i use sentinal and hold aggro for a bit untill war vokes off of me <wtf> mob dies
3 mobs later war is starting each fight on yellow/ orange hp and drawing too much h8 bang cure3 on war snm follow suit h8 back on me..WAR VOKES!
After 2 fights like this I'm starting with 40-60 mp and healers are also strained ..>> please don't voke off me still does it idc anymore.So i stop tanking and laugh as his hp goes into the red.The next 20 min involve a snm asking me why im not tanking.I try again same.So I log come back im repped by a taru war/nin and look at the origional war/nin.die I laughed and told him how pleased i was told him nvr to call me again ever..what did i do wrong ..ur a bad pld there all saying it how am i a bad nin.But by far my favourite one was For all u know I have my pld at 75.I wasnt letting this go i had to defend the honour of all pld's everywhere.If you were i said then how come you cant handle a proper PLD in a party .....blah blah blah ur a bad tank idc if i cant call u.Why do i attract trouble>

From the bits and pieces I am able to decipher, you stopped tanking long before you left the party? Did you warn the party you were about to stop tanking?

By the looks of things the WAR wanted to tank either that or he never partied with a PLD before.

I've partied with people like that when I'm my NIN. I had a mnk/war wanting to tank in Qufim. Puller would bring a mob in and the mnk/war would rush out voke it off the puller and then start tanking it. I'd voke off him and he would just voke back.... meh some people just wanna tank without telling anyone.

As for your party he may have been the tank before you entered the party and was just continuing that way.

BAHH NO they didnt even need a pld ... looking back on it a red mage or a healer would of been better.

Dude, you have to remember not all of us can and may not understand your jive, so you might want to actually make complete sentences that make sense.

I ment that this war/nin voked the mob and done his WS or some massive damage and try as i did nothing would cause the mob to aggro me

Well from what I can gleam off the post, I would say that you didn't really have a tank in the pt. I know most of my parties on Lesser Colibri were NIN, DDx3, Healer and Support. No real tank, just bounce hate as need be.

Was the war that voked /nin? Maybe he was voking to get hit 3-6 times with shadows and was expecting you to voke back once he started taking damage. Instead you just let him get hit, and decided that you weren't going to tank. If you don't want to tank, fine, you can not tank while sitting in your Mog House. If you were invited to my party I would expect you to find your niche in the group and play a role that benefits the party.

Seemed to me as I was leveling from 60-75 that party dynamics change, and no longer resemble what you may be use to. Start trying to adapt to parties you are in and I think you'll enjoy to game much more.

On a side note, when I was leveling my first job, I was under the impression that everything in the game was going to be like an exp party. But once I started doing dynamis, limbus, HNMs and various stuff with my shell I have yet to find anything like an exp party. For example, we took down Hydra a few days ago with a triple tank PLD/NINs. Start experimenting and try to enjoy the game as opposed to getting worked up over it.

(1) Don't accept party invites into parties where your current job configuration does not fit. PLD WAR WHM WHM SMN BLU is not an effective party past level 25.

(2) If you DO accidentally accept one, graciously apologize and ask them to find someone more suited (though in reality what they should have done is gotten rid of one of the WHMs with maybe a Corsair - there's way too much mage power in that group with hardly any support).

(3) How on God's green earth does a WAR end up keeping hate against a Paladin when he's bleeding HP as much as you say he is? That suggests to me that either (a) he's more than 1 level above you, or (b) you have no idea what you are doing, even without Refresh/Ballad/Evoker's Roll. At that level you should have more Enmity+ than a typical Warrior, even though he's obviously outdamaging you.

Nope he just kept voking and voking i managed to hold hate for a bit but when this happened he kept stealing hate from me and i was sick of it Ilove tanking and i happen to be good at it for some reason H8 controll is a pld's job so why bother if you already have a war/nin who wants to tank and won't let the PLD

only thing that di work was cure3 but with only 2 casts it aint worth using to heal an idiot get hate only to have the same idiot pull hate off of you

I dont know what race are you or what you said from the original post but from what i can gather from other posts, i honestly didnt think you knew what you were doing.

Very rarely do i lose hate taking as a PLD vs lesser colibris(i THINK thats what you are fighting...), even if a WAR vokes, theres other hate tools you can use to outhate the WAR. Usually vs Colibris, i let everyone go wild, the only time i lost hate long term was when a 57DRG did 920 Penta, and he just Super Jump after i tried to jack hate back and failed to do so.

Try using Flash, Sentinel, Shield Bash, your own Provoke, or maybe you know you can Cover which no one seems to do these days...that and i highly doubt the WAR is wearing AF with +Enimity outside the boots...so i dont see the problem...you can also Cure him instead...that usually helps...Provoke is 30 seconds, what are you doing within those 30 long seconds?

Well that and you can also Communicate with the WAR if you havent...communication tends to lessen stuff like this happening...outside the beginning of the battle having these types of problems, i dont get it..*confused*

I don't really see why the WAR/NIN needs to Provoke, unless for setting up SATA with a THF, or the main tank lost hate, or the WAR/NIN is part of tanking. If a WAR/NIN provokes every 30 seconds in exp party that has a PLD/WAR, something is wrong.

In this case I would just Flash when the WAR/NIN cast Utseumi: Ichi, Cure the WAR/NIN, and Provoke very 30 seconds.

When I'm the Paladin I tank, but if somebody else makes that extraneous effort to do my job I let them. Whose loss is it when they die?

The party had the hallmarks of your average terrible party anyways. I don't turn down parties very often, and I can put up with less than average EXP, but there's one thing I wont tolerate and that's pulling with Provoke. That's probably the most easily avoided mistake ever.
