 I am currently a lvl13 bst. I have whm at lvl 11, and rdm at lvl 30. Right now I have bst as my main job and whm as my sub-job. I really like bst, but would really like to take rdm to the end-game events also. My plan was to keep bst as my main job, with whm my sub until lvl 23, then switch sub-job to rdm until 60(when I will lvl up my rdm to 37). My confusion is this:How much better is whm as a sub-job than rdm(should I be leveling up my whm or can I get away with rdm just as good), and also should I stay with bst as my main job or level bst upto 37 and take rdm to lvl 75?

As far as survivability goes, whm has a definite advantage over rdm. I can't see any situation that you'd want to sub rdm, save enfeebling the mob. IMO, more mp and cures is way more important in soloing than throwing resisted enfeebles at the mob.

You can get by with subbing whm. Also consider subbing ninja, which is also good for soloing.

Edit:
I thought I was in DRG's forum. (Just woke up not long ago). Opps. Post removed.

You're in the wrong forum!

Anyways, to level Red Mage you must level White Mage as a sub job, and to level White Mage it would be best to level Black Mage as a sub job. White Mage and Warrior are all-around great jobs to have sitting at level 37 for a variety of reasons.

These give a nice breakdown on the subjob debate:

It's probably equally valuable for a RDM to have BLM sub as having WHM sub. There are some RDMs who probably place BLM as the #1 sub, with WHM being #2.

The beauty of Beastmaster is - there is NO wrong way! If you want to sub bard, go for it! Paladin? No problems! Red Mage? A few of my friends have gone RDM sub all the way on BST and they love it.

As for resisted enfeebles, I'm still sticking para, slow and silence on T mobs as 53bst/32whm on my 2nd character, and as 67bst/75whm on main. Get your RDM to 37+ and make sure your enfeebling and healing are capped and you should be good.
