Can anyone here tell me what kind of drop rate this NM has because I have killed it at least 15 times and have still not gotten the robe to drop :cry:

Is there some kind of secret day, moon phase or time that the robe should drop or is it just one of those drops that you have a better chance of sprouting wings and turning into a moogle than getting? (or am I just really unlucky? lol)

Any info on this NM or past experiences with it would be great to hear, I just would love to have a kick ass robe to wear on my smn avatar battles :P

I've killed him at least 30 times and have never had the robe drop. But my best friend happened across Ashmaker and killed him once and got the drop. So you and I are just unlucky.

I've killed him 3 times and only once did I get a drop of the hermits wand though no robe yet.

I've killed him a few times while mining in Yughott. Got the wand once, no robe. Drop rate is (as you can tell from the above posts), poor at best.

I believe I usually got the robe to drop in about 11 kills, but ya, the drop rate is kind of bad.

I've killed him lots and I'd say the Robe drops maybe 1 time in 15 or more. It's not really a money-maker NM, more like an "opportunity" kill while mining in Yughott. However, it always drops the at least the wand for me...only 4k-5k on ah but that's better then most of the ores down there (especially now with the dumpy economy).

Keep at it, drop rate sucks but you'll get it eventually...

Ok thanks for all the past experiences guys, Im just going to keep trying for the robe since im too stubborn to give up now and at least it does drop the wand each time :rolleyes: Hopefully I'll get lucky sometime soon (and hopefully Spiritbear will get lucky too because 0/30...ouch :wasted: )

Take a stack of pickaxes with you when you go and camp him. That way if he doesn't drop that time you can at least sell the ores you have mined.

That's how I do it...even if I dont get a Priest's Robe, I still usually come out of Yughott with at least 15 Iron Ores (auction for around 1k if you are willing to wait a day or 2), about 10 Zinc Ores (worth 2k each in Bastok), and usually half a stack of Flintstones. I toss everything else, with the exception of Gold, Darksteel, and the colored rocks. So even without a good drop from ash, one trip usually nets me about 30k+, so even if I don't get a chance to make a play for Ash, it's still usually a decent money maker.

Thats a great idea, ive never tried mining before but I constantly see people mining while I am camping Ashmaker so I'll give it a shot next time I camp it (which may be soon cause im a glutton for punishment :rolleyes: )

Thanks for the idea and also thanks Haggai for the approx drop rate, which is one hell of a crappy drop rate I must add (I should really start leveling again so I can kill some NMs and just buy decent gear :o )

I use to camp him loads back in the day. Got the robe a few times (i cant remember but ill estimate it at 3/20) back when it would sell for 100k+ which was nice for a low level RDM. Hermits wand dropped every other time, I've never seen it NOT drop other then when the robe drops.
