Southern San d'Oria > West Ronfaure > La Theine Plateau > Valkurm Dunes > Selbina > Selbina-Mhaura Ferry > Mhaura > Buburimu Peninsula > Tahrongi Canyon > East Sarutabaruta > Windurst Woods

If going by chocobo, you can't take the ferry so:

Southern San d'Oria > West Ronfaure > La Theine Plateau > Jugner Forest > Batallia Downs > Sauromugue Champaign > Meriphataud Mountains > Tahrongi Canyon > East Sarutabaruta > Windurst Woods

Note that if going by chocobo, it's difficult to make this trip in less than 30 minutes, so your chocobo may leave you before you get to Windurst.

renew the chocobo at Jeuno to be safe. As long as you don't take a very wrong turn, you can get very close to the gates of Windurst on one Chocobo. Even if you do take a wrong turn it should last until East Sarutabaruta or a bad wrong turn it should hold out most of the way through the Canyon. Either way, not too dangerous for someone 20+ if funds are tight.

How do you get lost in Meriphataud? There's a canyon road you can follow all the way to Tahrongi which has a similar layout. When I was a young newb, I found La Theine Plateau the most difficult of those zones to traverse because I wanted to offroad it since it has a horrible road layout and ended up getting stuck wandering around the various cliffs looking for an ascent. I've since marked the ascents on my map and outgrown the need for the markers, but still.. La Thiene Plateau is IMO more difficult to traverse than Meriphataud Mountains. I was also confused by the giant unmarked plateau in East Sarutabaruta--it was the source of endless frustration my first time in the area as I looked for a way up (travelling East first instead of West unfortunately).

When I first looked at Meriphutat map, I thought the road was going the long way around. So I tried to short cut through the middle. And I got stuck in all the cliffs there.

Or, at least until the Starlight Festival ends, you can put on a dream hat and just instantly teleport there by talking to a smilebringer.

The only place I ever got lost in was the palubough(sp?) mines, had an event there with my LS back in the days to hunt kazham keys, so a bunch of windy folks none over the level of 30, running around with out a map and getting totally lost and seperated at times, but you know what, we all got our keys from all 3 zones! even though it was a 12 hour event x_X good times good times.

Now only Ifrit's Caldron gets me ~.~
