Hihi. Just another stupid newbie question about your favorite kittygirls and mine, the Mithra.

For those of you who have the game, or know more than I do (so, well, most of you), the mithra have lower stamina and strength than humes, but are faster and more accurate, right?

How do they stack up and compare to the other classes later in life? Will I have much trouble as a redmage or paladin if I choose Mithra? What about White Mage or Monk?

Thanks for reading.

It's a stats calculator maybe it can help you.

this is great!

compared to a Hume, a Mithra has these (EDIT: approximate) statistic modifiers:

Strength -15%
Dexterity +45%
Vitality -15%
Agility +30%
Intelligence +0%
Mind -15%
Charisma -30%
HP +0%
MP +0%

any comparisons between two otherwise equal Hume and Mithra characters will yield this difference, but this is before any job modifications to your statistics, in other words, this is the innate difference, not the actual difference after your job adds to your stats

these percentages will be actually quite a bit lower in game because exactly half of your stats are provided by your job, and half are from your race

the only major drawback to using a Mithra is the low Charisma stat, which I believe is only significantly important to a Beast Tamer, and although it may have an effect on the jobs available in the expansion pack such as Summoner or Dragoon, this is not confirmed at this time

As melee fighting classes, Mithras don't hit as hard as Humes but hit more often, as mage classes, Mithras and Humes have the same MP and same Intelligence (Spell Strength) so they're pretty much equal

most comparisons will turn out like this, as another example, Humes are tougher than Mithras but are also hit more often because of the Hume's lower evasion, and things generally balance out

if you like the idea of playing as a Mithra, go for it, its not going to be a bad choice unless you have high hopes as a Beast Tamer

Whazzy: Thanks for the link :) That *IS* great. :D

Casival: So it's a matter of like 6 points at level 50, eh? How hard is it to find items that add +s to stats?

I mean, I know I'll never have *AS* high a Cha as a Hume, but I'm wondering if I could make up the differences using items.

Moot point anyway, since I heard the Beast Master Class is almost worthless. ^^;

So basically as a mithra...

Mage: I'm as good as a hume, so don't worry abou it. But.. what does Mind do for a character?

Melee: I'm all about the fast, repetitive hits. Light weapons with high rate of fire to emphasis my bonuses. I'm not going to be crushing heads, but I can pincushion just about anything that I want.

How hard is it to find items that add +s to stats?
I can't speak for this personally since I haven't played, but my impression is that if you're willing to pay a few extra gil and take a small hit in total armor strength, its not too hard to get armor/accessories that add to a specific stat that you want to boost, but its mostly limited to boosting important stats for your current job (such as adding to MP for a mage)
But.. what does Mind do for a character?
Mind is thought to be only used in calculations for Magic Defense, while Intelligence is used in calculating the strength of a spell, as an example, Elvaans therefore don't take much damage from spells but don't deal much damage either

Questions then. Does Agil and/or Dex affect movement speed? I mean, besides just attacking faster and more accurately, does it help it when you're wakling from point A to point B?

I am not sure, but from looking at the Thief ability "Flee" which increases your actual running speed, I would say that Thiefs should be the fastest job, and since their primary attribute is Dexterity (with Agility at a close second) that should be the most important stat for moving speed, but truthfully, I don't know if your stats have much affect on your movement speed

Nope, no stats affect your moving speed or how fast you are attacking.

Dex is how accurate you are in hitting enemy with your melee ability.

Agi is how fast you can dodge attack, and your range accuracy.

There are certain equipments that increase your speed though.

Also, MND affect your healing magic as well.

I wouldn't say Beast Master is as useless as it was, now they have their Pokéballs...err Summon Stones lol

They can capture monsters to use later, it's much better than it used to be, try capturing a Behemoth hehe.
