Salutations.

Eauijhkuu Here.

So all of you that have reached level 45 as THF will understand -what seems to be - the sheer uselessness of Square Enix's creativity. They looked at THF's skill tree and decided that we weren't useless enough, so they added the Mug skill to our tree.

And now we're just plain uber.

Perhaps there's some drastic improvements with the Ehancer items that increase the skill's trait. But I'm very skeptical of the fact that it does much of anything.

To be more accurate, the skill only works on beastmen, if successful.

The only true use that I've found for this skill is during PVP, to lift petras off of opponents.
By which case, then, this skill has its uses.

And here's the set of questions for discussion:
Is Mug worth the 15 minute recharge time?
And, Does Aura Steal trait Affect Mug as well?

Mug is cool on NMs where you mug some ridiculous amount. Good for claiming Sozu for your thief knife too I guess?

Mugged 4k of Seiryu . . . . .okay I guess it's sorta worthless . . .if only it was a 1 min recast , if only *sigh*

Mug is essentially worthless because I think SE was scared of a skill that introduces new gil into the economy.

A little extra pocket money is fun.
PS: How much can you mug the Moblin Millionaire for?

Mug is pretty useless. I can't wait until they add thermos, styrofoam cup, and champagne flute so I can get my drink on in style. Mug just doesn't cut it most of the time.

And I want to share it with more than just beastmen. I want to have a warm Mug with CourierCarrie from time to time.

I remember a time in EQ where Rogue's could Mug the everlivingbejesus out of mobs and, over the course of an hour, make very decent to lucrative gold.

I've never heard complaints about that ruining its economy.......

SE needs to get more mainstream and less conservative in its views on this game. It's so niche-y and gil so terribly awful to obtain that vs the gilsellers...... something like a skill like stealing is in EQ would be invaluable...

.... until the GS'es abused it and we're back to square one lol....

Mug is great for claiming. Steal can fail if you have full inventory; Mug cannot.

Whenever I'm extremely low on gil I'll go get a few pop items for NMs no ones ever after (tonberry rattle) pop the nm mug it for 2,800 gil and flee away or hide maybe even kill it for the extra 5k or more the nm itself will drop. Usually just enough money for me to put things on the AH but it works for me lol.

Ehh...When I would XP on beastmen I'd use it to steal pocket change. It paid for my Choboco rentals and my airship rides so I can't really compain that it's totally useless. Abit of pocket change here and there is fun but it's not really good at making gill....

honestly, if it weren't for the obscenely long recast timer, I doubt it would be as sucky as it is. And an extremely easy way to make sure it's not abused is to limit it's use to one successful mug per mob, like steal. I seriously see no reason why this should be a 15 minute ability.

1. It's only really going to pull in a decent amount on NMs, the 15 min timer is probably going to stick you with the chance to mug it once (unless you hold out on purpose). An NM Mug is probably going to average around 3000.
2. Aura Steal will not have an effect on Mug, only Steal. Steal is restricted by inventory space where Mug is not though, so Spider-Dan has a good point when it comes to claiming NMs with the skill.

What if you're full on gil? (( 999,999,999 ))
