server population ?

Made a character on this server, and was wondering what the server population is like here ?

Im seeing ALOT less people in Bastok then I did during the games US release, but I imagine, 1.) The hype has died down, so its natural to see a decrease in population and 2.) Not everyone is a newb now, and are hanging out in the higher level area's of the game (i.e. Jueno) rather then the noob starter cities.


Anyways what Im really looking for is a medium sized server. I dont like small servers because it becomes hard to find group members and meet new friends and hate large servers because of overcrowding in zones making it so you have to fight with others just to get a spawn.

Is Remora gonna be the perfect fit for me ?

Most people got placed on their server randomly so the populations for all of them are roughly the same.

depends on what time you log in. average during NA prime seems to hover a little under 3000 ppl (but i haven't logged in for a month so...).

remora is not a big server. i'd place it among the small-medium range. one thing it does have going for it that might interest you is that, more likely than not, new players have a very good chance of being assigned to this server.

population seems to be kinda of low during the week, but usually gets up closer to the weekend. Of course this is just my observation during the past 2 weeks. but earlier I was on and did /sea all and got 1833 for population but that was around 11 pm tonite. But like i said just a little while ago, it gets better toward the weekend.

I remember when I first played FFXI their was like 4000+ people on all the time on like every server, oh those were the days....

When I first started there was like a bizzilion people all in the noobie zones and Bastok/Windurst/San (well maybe san, I only had characters in wind and bastok)
and they all spoke english !!! Well almost all, there were a few lv 75(ish) Japanese folks who had to come and strut around like the gods they were. Freaking show offs.

But I think the real high for me then, was trying to get my pumpkin hat..... I seem to remember something about some freaking cookies regarding that. I felt like the Noob king when I got that Pumpkin, even though everyone else and their dog had one too.:P

I'm a newbie on Remora as well - username Moribund. I haven't seen nearly ANYONE on this server in Bastok - the most at one time was maybe 20 people on screen with me in the main square in front of the Auction House. I'm going to be close to lvl 10 War soon and I'd like to be able to go out and have some fun with other players. Anyone interested send me a message!
