Where to buy Worldpasses

I am a new player, and I am looking for the place where I can buy world passes. I've heard a gold pass was 1000 gil, is that a hard amount to get?

You can get 1k from a stack or two of crystals if sold at the Auction House. You can get crystals from Signet which can be activated by talking to a gate guard. Worldpasses are bought in the port of San d'Oria and Bastok and in Heaven's Tower in Windurst.
