I read the BST Info stickies up on the top but I was wondering if there have since been any changes to it?

I remeber hearing something about jugs not taking exp anymore? Also something about if PTs do more dmg then the pets then no exp is taken? Could someone please explain to me?

Pet's Effect on Experience
* A Beastmaster takes a 30% penalty to his own experience points if he has a charmed pet when a monster dies. The 30% penalty is only applied to the Beastmaster and not to the rest of the party.
* If the Beastmaster uses a pet of a higher level than the highest level party member, the pet's level is used as the highest level party member for purposes of calculating experience points. A Beastmaster's pet has no other effects on experience points.
* Updated as of 12/12/05: Beastmasters will now receive 100% of the experience gained for enemies defeated with a pet summoned by the “Call Beast” ability. .

I've never heard this before, so I'm highly skeptical that this would be the case. But I never pt as a DD BST, so I can't vouch for this personally.

As people have said, jugs no longer take 30% exp but charmed local pets still do. It's very easy for pt members to do more dmg than your pet. In a pt bst does less damage than say a war, drk, sam or other melee and our pets do less damage than a melee but if you combine both your damage and your pets damage then you become a good DD. So if what you heard were true we'd never lose exp in pts with a locally charmed pet but unfortunately we do so that rumour is false.

Yeah, that rumor was a misunderstanding of the pet and it's contribution to the party. It's one of the reason's I've seen that BSTs have been exiled from many parties, is that common rumor that the BSTs pet will hurt the entire parties EXP. It's complete BS but somehow it continues to exist.
