I am most likely going to be a hume black mage instead of a taru and i wanted to know how magic spells compare to physical attacks. For example: in FFVIII we all used fire and thunder at the very beginning but later magic was not really used as gf's and physical attacks were much better. How does the power of a blm spell, say fire, compare with a physical attack at the same level.

The power of magics rely on how much INT you have.

At LV 35, the difference of INT between Hume BLM and Taru BLM rises by more than 10. The consequence is clear.

Hume BLM can give 30 damage points, while Taru BLM can give 60 damage points when magics are excecuted in single attack basis. When the effect of black magics is enhanced with magic Burst effects, Hume BLM can give 60 damage points, while Taru BLM can give 120 damage points.

But Taru BLM is easily killed by only one strike of a very very strong enemy, which is usually the target of attacks of levelling parties.

Compared to the physical attacks, magics are a bit more poweful than physical attacks, but the intervals of the magics take longer than those of physical attacks.

We must keep in mind that physical attacks and magical attacks have synergistic action with each other, by the effect of Renkei moves and Magic Burst effects.
