I'm looking through all the waist equipment Cor can use trying to figure out what I should get for my Cor. I just got from 25 to 32 today by the way. Planning to take Cor all the way to 75. Also, does +attack counts for range attack? Or are they completely seperate stats?

I'm kinda looking at Gun Belt. http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Gun_Belt
The +5 marksman skill sounds so awesome. But I'm not sure if I'll be ask later on to sub /nin?

A cheaper choice is merc captain's belt. http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Mercenary_Captain%27s_Belt
Looks pretty poor compare to gun belt : /

At level 50, is Royal Knight's Belt any good? http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Royal_Knight%27s_Belt

hmm not that whole lot of good pieces for COR in the auction isn't it :O

Precise Belt level 60 http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Precise_Belt
And then probably Venturer's Belt @ level 71... http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Venturer%27s_Belt

Which pieces should be try to get, and what are other R/E pieces I can look forward to?

I would definetly go for the Gun Belt over all the other belts.

I havn't go my Corsair to the higher levels yet I'm only at 47. Having that extra Marksmanship boost also gets you Slug Shot that little bit sooner as well ^^

I wouldn't know at higher levels if Corsair get asked to sub Nin but Rng to me is the better choice.

heh till I can lvl cor again I am stuck at 40, to me the Gun belt, and Royal Knight's Belt+1 look good but eh. . . . can't afford gun belt at the moment so I am using the Merc Captain belt and I am doin good on dmg up keep with the other dds lol. If you can grab the belt stick with it, it looks like thats best belt for mid lvls lol.

As of now I haven't been asked to sub nin and the cors I pted with usally have 1 of the 3 (/rng, /whm, and /nin) but I see more /rng then the others.

In general, I would think +attack does not include +ranged attack. There are some items, like Bastokan Subligar (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/2623), which list +attack and +ranged attack bonuses separately. Since both bonuses on Bastokan Subligar are +3, it wouldn't make sense to list both if +attack also applied to ranged attack.

Gun Belt is the best COR belt in the game, but /RNG only.

RKB+1/+2 and Precise Belt are both viable alternatives if you are on another subjob.

ahh thanks for the clear cut choice Spider o.O Yes I got myself the gun belt. It's been really fun taking Cor from 20 to 37, the damage I'm doing with /Rng is so impressive. Ended up stealing hate even from PLD quite often o_O;;

How often have you been asked to /nin instead of Rng? If it's rare or none at all I think I'm set with gun belt and beater's ear ring.

By the way, what are your gear choices at 75 for TP and Slugshot? I heard some people use hexagun, what's a reason to use it compare to martial gun?

I am glad to say Jei never been asked to sub nin, and to say I won't be able too unless I pile gil into it and lvl nin right. . . . -_-;;;

I've never been "asked" to /NIN, but I have ended up using /NIN probably 10 times from 28-75. At lower levels, I would /NIN any time we were fighting against something weak to piercing and we had a NIN tank. Post-60, it's a little tougher to give up /RNG, though... Barrage is sorely missed.

Now (post-adjustment), I'll normally /NIN in the thickets and melee+ranged. I don't /NIN in mire because I can't melee imps; amnesia messes up my roll rotation.

If it's rare or none at all I think I'm set with gun belt and beater's ear ring.
Just pick up an RKB+1 and a drone earring if you need to /NIN; they should both be dirt cheap.

By the way, what are your gear choices at 75 for TP and Slugshot?
Base gear set: COR/RNG (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/profile.xml?147766)
Substitute Dusk Trousers for War Brais (alla's db does not have Dusk Trousers updated as a COR-usable item).

If I'm meleeing, I'll swap out dual Merman's for dual Sniper's, and if I'm /NIN, I'll use dual Trailer's and swap Beater's/Gun Belt for Suppanomimi/Swift Belt. I'm still trying to get my hands on a Joyeuse.

How much of a difference does Gun Belt make in terms of accuracy and damage exactly? Just curious.

I've never managed to get my hands on one, but recently got Deadeye Gloves, Hurling Belt and a Vision Earing to go with Beater's Earring, P Charm, Jaridah legs, Scorpion Rings x2, AF Head, Body and Feet. With /RNG and the ranged update factored in, I don't feel like I'm missing out on much. I feel like I could actually drop Trailer's Kukri for Phantom Fluret soon, so if future BCs go well and Gun Belt makes a big difference, I may still look into it.

Marksmanship Skill +5 is equivalent to RATK+5 (regardless of your skill) and RACC+5 if your marksmanship skill is under 200, or RACC+4.5 if your markmanship skill is over 200.

What are the requirements for the latent effect on the gun belt?

Subbing RNG is what releases the latent I believe.

Could any of you guys give me a link to a good site that has a list of some latent effects and how to receive the effects?

Look up equips on http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org and they will have how to unlock the latent on their information pages, like the Gun belt page that Jei listed above.

Hm. Guess I'll keep Hurling Belt for now and when I do /NIN in the future and get Gun Belt for /RNG then.
