What is my ideal Ranger? Perhaps Mithra?

Meow, when I think of an ideal character in an RPG, I think of the character that has the highest damage rate. By that, I mean the average HP damage in an interval of time, say HP/seconds.

This damage is determined by three factors: Average damage, how often attacks are made, and how accurate.
You know, large damage is lowered by poor accuracy; that kind of thing.

So, what stats and any inherit race attributes affect a ranger's attack in damage, accuracy, and speed? I haven't found much about rangers, except that agility might affect damage.

Share your knowledge. I'm a poor mithra waiting for the domestic release. =._.=

Well, to answer the question you posed in the thread title, your ideal Ranger would be (and do correct me if I'm wrong, somebody):
Mithra RNG/THF Lv65, with a full set of AF weapon+armor and some nice bells and whistles and frilly edges, with a good PT to back her up.
As far as the ideal damage output ratio ... ... ... ... ... ... :sweat: ... ... ... ... phew. The world may never know ... I'm thinking Thief-something maybe? Because of backstab and such ... does anybody know? :confused:

I'll give Ranger/Thief a go, instead of Thief/Ranger, and see how it goes X3. I don't mind a life of diversity if I'm so adorable. It's not like I could ruin myself like in Diablo II, nyan?

Im going to be a Ranger/Thief but what i heard the backstab attack doesnt work with Range weapons.

I'm a White Mage, White Mage = not good shield. Kiya shielding you would be better, she's going to be a Dragoon, Dragoon = more defece than White Mage.

Yea i decided im gunna be a Ranger/Theif too, but who knows, hwen FFXI comes out ull have so many other jobs to choose form im sure some people will change path's

In that case, Clyde, you need to be a Ranger sub NINJA, not Thief. I mean, come on, you're never gonna be half as cool as Legolas without two long knives to back you up. ;) :spin: :sweat:

Yo doofnut aragorn was the ranger Legolas is just using stadard elf equip, and traditionally a ranger does dual wield however but the sword is as important as the bow to a ranger. Its not ranger because they used ranged weapons its because they stay in the woods fro prolonged periods of times. But my second character is going to be a Ranger/thief or ninja any way
