How on earth do you pull this thing when the other NM's (Adaman Quadav and whatnot) have also spawned?

Isn't there one that pops in that room closer to the zone line as well? I know I saw one when I ran past there to do Limit Break 3, but maybe that was just a fluke.

If not, I think that's the one you're supposed to pull.

Yes there is a second spawn point near the mute just before the room with the Crest in it, however as Ruby is a NM I believe it doesn't spawn at both but at one or the other.

Somepage's description says "Spawns at either J-7 or I-6 approximately every 20 minutes."

Ah. That makes a lot more sense then. And I definitely see where you'd have a problem pulling in the other location. Good luck. :/

Just zone it and claim straight away when it repops cause all the mobs dont link for like 5secs after poping. Take it too a safe place for the win.

Edit: There is 2 other NM in that room? Ok so now I need to rethink cause I forgot NMs dont depop when zoned so if you somehow manage to not link the other 2NMs then you can zone the other NQ mobs and only NM will be left at entrance when you rezone.

That was my problem. :p Ruby and Adaman must be really good friends, they NEVER seem to move out of linking range of each other. I waited a while to see how they moved around and when I tried it, they linked and both came at me.

Oh and if you're really unlucky, there are a total of 4 NM's that spawn on the same point.

I'm pretty sure the Ruby Quadav is not a unique NM and can in fact be in both places at the same time? The one near the zoneline should respawn every 15 minutes after being killed. There's no reason that you should want to go after the other one in the Roomful O' Death for G3. Just pull the one near the zoneline, zone to despawn his buddies, then fight him.

I know that, of all the many times I've passed by there, he's always been in his usual spot.

Interesting. It looks like Ruby does spawn in both spots, unless someone killed it in the Crest room before I got there.

Ruby was a whole lot easier then I was expecting.

I think what I did was cast sleepga, then zone, came back, pulled ruby closer to zone, then slept him again. Either that or I zoned after sleeping ruby closer to zone. Despawn ftw.

Ruby is easily soloable by a high level ninja so I'd imagine you'd have no problem as a rdm/nin also. For the adaman it really helps if you have a healer so you can grab the odd spot heal when you tank both the adaman and ruby simultaneously. A rdm/nin and ninja main should be enough to take out the pair if you get a link on the pull.

As to the ruby NM status, it's kind of a pseudo NM. Both ruby quadavs can be up at the same time and their spawn patterns seem in no way linked. They do, however, have a slightly longer respawn time than the normal quadavs in the area.

Its pretty easy to pull. Just pull Ruby in the room for G3 and let the other ones link. Zone out then zone back in and Ruby will be there while the other mobs will despawn. I helped a rdm friend do this all night while trying to get him a test.

What I've always done is done is let them link, sleep Ruby near the zone then zone out and back in. Ruby is by the zone asleep waiting for you.

I just always did the one in the first chamber by the mute. Pull ruby, sleep if linked, zone,pop back in, silance and dispel him down then smack him around.
There are 2 rubies that pop. One by the mute the other in the admanking's chamber. Both have like a 20 minute repop. If you have a few friends you can ghetto pull the king's chamber one. One person has to be willing to drop and not take part in the action though.
Clear the mute chamber, clear the quads around the door. Next have a sleeper,puller,voker,and door opener ready. Puller pulls ruby and runs to the ledge. Voke grabs the ruby while the door person get the door. Everyone but the puller heads to camp. ( puller is stuck below the ledge) As the voke runs to the zone the sleep garbs the ruby. The others "should" despawn though we have never tested it with the adamant up. ( we kill everything when we go)

this one is very simple i killed it about 20 times getting tests for maat as a rdm/blm u can do with any sub as long as you can sleep nuke it i also with /nin tried but its hard without ni

When I did this I brought some help. SMN friend would pull /w Carby, then we'd Sleep/Nuke/BP it to death.

Now I know the O.P. already took down Maat, but Hover Pots in the Temple would be much faster w/ a few LS members. Took me 10 min to get my 1st one there, and maybe 20 min to get my 2nd one.
