Does anyone know what NPCs sell the various types of seeds you can grow? I am 100% sure I bought some seeds off an NPC at one time (possibly grain) however I've done a search on the web now and it doesn't list any sellers at all, only the mobs who drop them.

The other reason I ask is because some"nice" (read: greedy) person is now selling a stack of grain seeds for around 40k on the AHs in Asura and they have somehow cornered the entire market. Now, I remember not so long ago that grain seeds used to be fairly cheap to buy (when wildgrass seeds first became popular, they were selling at 10k a stack and were way more expensive than any other type of seed).

It's fair enough when you sell what you've gained through one means or another (dropped/stolen from mobs, through harvesting etc) but as this person's name often shows up as selling the last 10 stacks in a row (over the course of 1 day), I doubt very much they have been able to obtain this many in the space of a day through "honest" methods and suspect they are buying them in from somewhere....

Sorry if this seems like a rant, but it bugs me that the price has sky-rocketed so much lately! :vent:

Wildgrass are the only NPCd seeds(and you can still get them from drops!)

The Mithra girl in Ru'Lude (Dabih?) sometimes sells Fruit Seeds. I saw them when I bought my first Chocobo Egg from her.

The Mithra girl's stock increases as people buy from her and the M&P stores. Her stock is reset to minimum after each conquest tally and apparently after each FFXI maintenance.

40k for a stack of grain seeds is about normal on my server (Hades) and has been ever since sushi was introduced, due to the need for tarutaru rice.

They are a pretty common drop and it would be very easy to farm 10 stacks in a day without much effort, especially for a THF. With only th1, farming a stack usually takes me between half an hour and an hour; a friend with th2 has told me he takes him about 15 minutes.
