HUGE Frustration w/ Fame Quest

Hey everyone, I'd like to say this is my first post. Onto my terrifyingly horrible problem that can hopefully be solved.

Of course you all know the Windurst Fame-up quest for Norg, where you hand four Yagudo Necklaces to Nanaa Mihgo in exchange for norg fame. My question isn't about how many, or how much the fame goes up, it's WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG?

1) First, I talked to Nanaa Mihgo. Then, I talked to her few henchmen lying around Windurst.

2) After talking to her again, she says the following: "I'll see you in the tenshodo headquarters at jeuno."

Everyone that I've told or asked has said that this problem has never occurred to them. When I trade her necklaces(4), nothing happens. Nothing at all. I've been told that I don't need to go to Norg, (But I've unlocked both NIN and SAM), I don't need a tenshodo invite, and that I really don't have to leave windurst at all, except for getting the necklaces themself. I talked to everyone within the area of Nanaa Mihgo, and I've tried trading different necklace amounts, yet nothing happens still.

I currently have about 240 necklaces spread over 3 mules, which should definitely be enough, but I'm pretty pissed, since I have 240 full slots that could be holding more important stuff like gear and important items, etc. For the love of everything sane, help me! I even contacted two GMs about this problem, and sent a bug report with no answer, as this might be a glitched quest, but I doubt it.

Any answer is appreciated. Also, if I made a stupid problem that can easily be solved and I just didn't realize it, please don't make fun of me, we all make little mistakes now and then!

No, I don't see that quest in my quest log, and that's my problem, I don't know why! ;_;


And, I also said before that I had attempted trading four necklaces and nothing happened.

Do you happen to be a level 40+ Thief? The Thief AF Weapon Quest (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/The_Tenshodo_Showdown) is started by talking to Nanaa Mihgo too. If you talked to her as a level 40+ Thief you would get this quest instead of Mihgo's Amigo. That's what happened to me anyway. If this is the case, I'm pretty sure you would have to go complete the quest she gave you before you can get another quest from her.

There are some Other Quests (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Nanaa_Mihgo) that you could have gotten instead of Mihgo's Amigo as well. All you have to do is figure out which one you got, and complete it. She should give you Mihgo's Amigo if you can't get any of the other quests instead. So, odds are, you just have to finish the quest you got and talk to her again.

CRAP. I do have a level 40 thief. Gaaaaah, I had no idea about this! This really, really is a bummer. I don't want to do my AF quest yet, I don't even know how to do it. Agh, but thanks for relieving some of my SEETHING RAGE, and it is now replaced with SEETHING FRUSTRATION. :(

When you're ready to get your Quadav Stew, I recommend bringing a higher level friend (45+ will do, higher is obviously better) with some time to kill. If you have a higher level job at or above this range, I believe you can sub /THF and still get the Quadav Stew.

1. Try using a level 1 job when you talk.
2. Try talking to the Mihgo Groupies if it still doesn't work...hopefully, they'll blather about necklaces which could be a sign that you can complete the quest.

Oh, thanks, i didn't think about trying a level one job.


And to the thief AF walkthrough, thanks a bundle as well, I probably would've obnoxiously asking someone "HOW I THF AF?"

Also maybe something to add.
I think but not possitive that there might be a cap to how many quests you do with Nanaa Mihgo to raise your norg fame...begining the quest i had no fame (Rice Balls 163gil) after about 80 yag necklaces i got rice balls down to 156 gil. Then the quest wouldn't work for me anymore. But after 24 zinc ores later in bastok i got it down to 153and was able to get Utsusemi quest

there should not be a cap on the quest. you can turn it in as many times as you want, however like others said, you could have possibly gotten some other quest that prohibits you from doing the other quest.

there are a lot of instances like this where certain quests become unavailable if you have other quests pending.

the best way is to check the various ffxi databases. ffxi.somepage.com, mysterytour, allahkashitter, KI and wiki. Usually with one of those, it'll tell you certain stipulations that must be met or to happen first before you can get a quest. if not, many of those forums have user added data where someone out there has had probably the same question as you.

I've been doing the fame quest with necklaces for the past 3 nights now... You have to trade 5 necklaces - not 4. It won't accept any other amounts.

My riceball price in Jeuno is 155 Gil so I should've been able to get the quest but... :vent: no... I did the rusty leggins quest and still no... It's so frustrating.
Any ideas how many necklaces you need... I've done like 200 and there seems to be no light in the end of the tunnel... grr..

Well maybe go to port bastok and trade Talib 4 zinc ores 3 times...shoudl knock it down to 153 gil per rice ball thats what did it for me...

I was doing this quest for Norg Fame (for an entirely different reason, I needed to get my Tuning Fork of Water) just a few days ago and I have no idea why trading four necklaces isn't working for you, because it worked just fine. Are you 100% positive that's the case?

You didn't really mention what quest you're getting fame for, but I would say keep at it just a little longer. 155 gil is the borderline price for Level 5 fame if I'm not mistaken, just like 160 is the borderline price for Level 4 fame; and when my rice balls cost 160 gil, I wasn't able to get the Tuning Fork of Water (which does require Level 4 fame). However, just finishing Mihgo's Amigos a couple more times did it. Once you're safely in the 155-150 gil range you should be okay.

That is not true. I did this grind today and it is 100% for sure 4 beads per turn in, not 5.
