Upon leveling up to level 11 (Just started a week or so ago) I noticed my max HP rose to 161.

By the time I had gained another 1000 exp, and logged out in my M.H., my max HP was 167.

Anyone have any insight into this? I have no +HP items or Job Traits.

Thats a little to vague. That could be a few things... food... subjob... you didnt notice you had 167 full hp and you only had 161 at the time. I doubt that is a bug that wouldnt have been discovered by now.

You probably changed subjobs

I do not have subjob capability. Lvl 11...first job.

I also have no food.

Here's a good time line.
8:00PM - Fresh Level 11, Max HP of 161 (Confirmed through Status screen by 161/161
9:00PM - 500 exp into Level 11, max HP of 164 (Confirmed by status screen by 164/164)
10:00PM - 968 exp into Level 11 / Logout Time, Max HP of 167.
(confirmed by status screen in Mog House as 167/167.)

Any more insight besides you are too vague.

Erm....what you probably did was change gear without realizing it. A lot of the low level gear gives +HP. I'm sure some weapons too have +HP attached to them, as well as the starting rings for sandoria.

that means he would have to change equipment 3 times in a span of 1000 exp?

He must be using some sort of HP-altering gear or food. There's no basic job/race combination that produces 167 max HP at level 11.

Galka BLM11: 162HP
Galka WHM11: 174HP

Elvaan THF11: 162HP
Elvaan WAR11: 185HP

Hume/Mithra THF11: 150HP
Hume/Mithra WAR11: 173HP

Tarutaru WAR11: 139HP
Tarutaru MNK11: 151HP

That's as close as it gets, unless the stat calculator (http://www.datasync.com/~dsmith/FFXIStats/) is wrong (and I don't believe it is).

There! When I leveled to 11, my base hp was 161. So that looks pretty right.

I have a sinking feeling you guys are sitting, looking at me going, "This clown has no idea what he's talking about."

I've finished all other Final Fantasy games, including more than 100 other RPGs. ...this may be my first MMORPG, but I'm not just BSing my way through this. The guys I play with (I play on my buddies computer in his basement) also looked at it, and had no idea why my HP kept increasing as I was gaining experience.

Starting ring for Bastok gives +HP, Sandy gives +def, mind, and Str, Windy gives + MP

Not a big thing, but helps to get the little things straight, else the big things pile up around them >_>

no one is calling you a noob or saying they don't believe you. they are saying there is probably a simple explanation for it that you missed. HP does not go up mid-level without help of some kind. what they listed were the common things that may cause it to go up, such as gear or food.

the only way something like that could happen on its own would be through some kind of a bug, which would undoubtedly have been discovered and fixed long ago.

you stated you weren't eating food so that rules out that

there is no weapon that adds hp that you would have at this point in your career as any equipable weapons with the stat are event items.

there are a number of armor pieces that effect HP which are wearable at your level, such as the blood stone or hairpins or rings or earrings, so it may have been gear that was changed out.

so it would have been
1) a bug which again is unlikely
2) a misread of your original max hp
3) a gear change that produced unnoticed effects at first
