View Full Version : I feel like ranting!

Ok then. Yesterday, I was xping allllll day, trying to get level 70. I got invited into a party at Caederva mire. It was going great and we were fighting Jnuns, imps, and flies, and it was an all JP party. I loved this party, but unfortunately, only after an hour and 30 minutes, the leader says "Disbanding party". :(

So, I put my flag up when I'm about 10k tnl, and I get invited to yet another xp party at Caederva mire. Once again, the party is doing superb. We've got a ninja, blu, sam, bard along with a rdm for refreshing, healing(which we didn't really need at all), and silencing of the imps. All is good! Unfortunately, after 30 minutes, lo and behold, the ninja, rdm and bard have to leave the party, and I'm only 3k away from my next level. So what do I say?

"Let's try to make our own party guys!"

Big, big mistake. The rdm gives the sam lead, and we manage to find a war, whm, and nin. OK. So we go to fight imps. I play like I usually do, and I had about a stack of echo drops on me (which I didn't have to use before because the ninja was able to keep hate). So, we're fighting imps and flies, and I'm doing my style like I usually do. Then I notice something. The whm, who's wearing a vermy cloak, has mp that's constantly in the 150-250 range, so what does the brilliant samurai say?

"Vyse, you're going to support heal."

I'm having to constantly support heal due to the mobs attacking the other players, I'm alright with this. Half of the time, I'm attacking, and the other half, I'm healing the other players. Big deal.

Now, some of the special attacks of the imps take away special abilities of the characters. So what does the Samurai say?

"Vyse, cure our status ailments!"

Here's the kicker. You would think the whm would silence the mob.....wrong. So I'll be in the middle of casting Blizzard III or some other high tier spell, and I would see "The imp heralder starts casting Thundaga II". So while I'm healing everyone's status ailments, using echo drops on myself(because the whm is getting hit very often) and casting curaga on the party.

Everyone's telling me to stun the mob when he casts an -aga spell. I'm not able to because I'm in the middle of casting something else that's not in my job, to even care about it. So, in essence, they get wiped, because I was chain-spelling everything else.

So brilliant samurai says,

"Don't you know what stun does???!!! I shouldn't be telling this to a 70 blm."

So the party is aggrevated at me. Wow! The ninja slaps me and says I'm doing a half-assed job. Thanks!

All I do is say "lol" and ignore it. So the whm in the party is giving me a snot-nosed attitude, saying that you should bring 3 stacks of echo drops whenever you party here. Ok....newsflash, idiot. I shouldn't be getting hit with AoE spells in the first place. I brought one stack for myself and lo and behold! The stack was already gone within 30 minutes. So I endure their hisses for 30 minutes, get my level. So in essence, in the end, I wasn't even magic bursting anymore, let alone playing my own job. I was made out to be their whm/rdm bitch and I would've told them to fuck themselves, had I not been so close to leveling.

Randomly, the brilliant samurai and the whm say that they have to go, so I got my level just in time. God forbid the samurai waits to get a red mage, or just says that we can wait until we find one. I was curious as to what these guys were up to, so i do a /sea all and I find out the sam is a 75 mnk and the whm is a 75 blm. Figures. Condescending idiots make me mad. Just shows me that anybody can hit 75 these days.

/end rant

Yeah, I can't complain. I would've been furious if they disbanded at 200 tnl or something.

If you have to use a whole stack of echo drops on imps, somebody is screwing up badly.

Caederva is status and AoE heavy, but if the whm was any good they should've been able to handle it.

On one point though, Imps are a bitch to keep silenced at that level, even as a rdm.

But yeah .. at least two people in that party sucked. /blist if you feel necessary and forget about it.

Y'know what though? With Caederva being the new trendy place to level, that place is like the new bibiki, which in turn was like 2nd valkurm. All kinds of retardedness there. Last time I was there the pullers were cussing eachother out in shout. It's been like two weeks since I felt like getting an experience party because I hate leveling in that place so much.

Yeah, I know how that feels. I had such a huge headache after that party, that I just turned the game off for a bit and didn't look back at my blm.

what the, what else does the whm do if he doesnt cure status ailments?I'm gonna guess overuse high level curagas, underuse high level regens, fumble the nin's haste, neglect barwatera, and never recognize appropriate times to sit. Oops was I ranting too? >_> I have once, maybe twice in all the parties I've had in the swamp met a whm who wasn't dead weight. Maybe it isn't their fault; maybe they're perfectly intelligent people outside of the mire, but like Valkurm there's a 20 point IQ penalty just for walking in. Granted every party I've been in there has had a rdm so there was less mp pressure, but a good whm would've been able to keep up with that party with the 2mp/tick refresh they should've had from sanction and vermy.sounds like a buncha tools. no worries mog.Truth.

i mean, other than curing. its like what else do they do? 1 whm should be more than enough to handle 75% of cure duties, especially with 2 players with utsusemi.

i hear you on the, -20 IQ penalty once entering certain zones. i also think its that group high mentality. when a buncha idiots get together running around like headless chickens, others just start doing the same.

monkey see, monkey do.

Well, there is always the option of not partying in the Mire, but good luck convincing people to do that. :/

Not that that would have changed this situation. Sounds like you were partied with a couple of real jerks.

omni searches... omni sees 54 ppl in mire.

I've had a lot of similar experiences in the mire. In the end, I just /blist and move on... its not like theres any shortage of level 75 noobs to party with.

/sigh

That pretty much explains it.

Everytime I go to Caedarva I'm welcomed by that noobness scent that's so present at the dunes, although the mire feels more like Kazham to me.

One would think. Instead, the whm was constant curinghealing, and I was having to do his duties for him.

So I'm not the only one who thinks this! I knew this place had a familar scent of stupidity in it.
