Anyone have like a little tutorial on how to draw a tarutaru? Ive been messing around on paper in school when im bored, but i really cant make it look good. Does anyone have a webpage or even a peice of paper themselves that has general steps to drawing a decent taru.

Thanks.

I've never really tried drawing a taru before, but I do know a strategy that will work with just about anything you are trying to draw: break it down into little shapes and then work with that. I suggest getting a Modelviewer (if you don't already have one) and looking at how the ears are shaped and such. Then as you draw it don't try to get the details in all at once. Just draw cheap triangles for the ears and nose, and a slightly curved rectangle for the body, noodles for the arms, etc.

Then once you get it all in place start adding clothing and detail. But be sure to be relatively satisfied with your outline, otherwise you'll never be satisfied with the final result. You can fix some of the outline as you add details, but it has to make you feel comfortable as you draw (if that makes any sense).

Edit: Forgot to critique your drawing, lol. I like it, the only problem I can see is the eyes are a little bit too big, and the ears too long. Try drawing the whole taru a bit bigger next time, so you don't have to struggle with eye detail. Otherwise I think you're on your way :D It'll get better as you draw a few more, just like any other drawing.

Hm, I did one on a Taru BRD a whiles back on a Wacom+OpenCanvas, studying the model helps a lot. And as Lilani said, work on the basic structure of the body first before adding on the details, etc. Have fun ^^

the most important part of drawing anything, at least living things, is porportion. Of which, I have none :D

Even my handwriting is horrible.
