Ok I'm new to the forum and relatively new to FF so if I am wrong don't give me too much of a hard time lol.

Ask SE this. Why is it not possible to have 2 macros with wait commands running at the same time? IE I want to use 1 macro to Voke count to 28 then echo to me to revoke. At the same time I want another macro to Flash count to 43 then echo to me to re-flash.

1 macro always cancels out everything after the wait command in the other macro.

I know that i can use recast but i have to keep pressing it I would rather an echoed (rather than spam the party with stuff they don't want to read) response, this would give me more time to heal or whatever I need to do.

Thanks

Why is it not possible to have 2 macros with wait commands running at the same time? Because it wasn't written that way.

knowing the recast time is useful. but for now you just have to find your way around it.

a good command to use in this case is /recast. this will give you the seconds until the ability is ready. you can have 1 macro with all recast you can check at once like this
/recast "Provoke"
/recast "Flash"

Or you can include them into your ability using macro, like this
/recast "Provoke"
/ja "Provoke" <stnpc>
...
...

this way, when you press macro, your provoke will not go out yet. You get to see the recast time, and if it's not ready you can simply cancel out of it. I use this for many spells/abilities macro myself.

I agree with the OP. This limitation is vexing.
Can we have concurrent macros please?

One thing I do, and this is especially helpful on nin and thf, is make one big /Recast macro with the /recast timers of all the useful things I need for the job. All my nin enfeebs, utsu, and ele spells have their own macros and all my thf JAs have their own. It gives me a bit more control so I don't have to spam the actual ability macro to know it's recast and potentially using it at the wrong time.

Seriously, /recast is your friend. I've never felt limited because of a lack of concurrent /wait macros. It's just about adapating your playstyle to the system in place, not the other way around.

Moved to General Discussion. While I'd like to see Square-Enix allow this, the thread title does not follow the rules for the Ask Square-Enix Questions forum.

On a related note, it'd be very handy to have a how-long-since-I-last-used-this-ability message, or have /wait x being able to go much higher.

Alternatively, a message that tells me when my jug pets are about to vanish would be rather nice :) .

It'd be nice to have all your echos running, but you know people would exploit the other weaknesses such design would open up. Really don't need more AFK WHMs, BRDs and WARs, we have plenty.
