I've used search and looked through some pages of threads in two different forums and came up with nothing. A few questions:
Where do I order FFXI?
They will ship it overseas, right?
Can I pay for it through a US credit card?
*After* the US version is released, will there be a language selection or patch to where the text in my import version is in English (ie npc talk, quests)? Or would I have to buy the US version to have the English text? (If the answer is I'll have to buy the US version for the english text, that's fine because I plan on getting that anyways if I can't have english text after its released)
Thanks for your help in advance.

If I order the japanese PC version, will it work with an American operating system? I'm running Windows XP if that helps.
I plan on getting the English version when it comes out (but can't wait to play it. Call it a waste of money, but I'm a MMORPG nutcase). After I buy the English version, will I be able to access my japanese account and play the game in English (through my English version)? My experience with MMORPGs would say "yes," but you never know.

Actually Huck is right. By the time the North American version is out PlayOnline will have its own FFXI servers in place states side. So information regarding your japanese account wont be on the same servers.

actually no, none of that is confirmed. ;)
Square will probably have stateside servers, but they also stated they wanted to have Japanese and American players playing together, therefore we will probably have access to eachothers servers, and therefore, Translation change shouldnt effect your account, but this is all speculation.
I wasnt saying Huck was wrong, but i was saying that he is stating it like we know, when in reality nothing about taht is confirmed.

My thoughts on this:
You're right, they will most likely have state related servers, such as they do for downloading on most sites. Ex) North-west cost, USA, australia......u get the point.
As well, my opinion on the sharing servers issue is that they will make a new server that you can transfer either your japanese character or your english character, and then can play with the japanese. But they will not make it just accesable for english to go onto the japanese server, because it would most likely crash with all the people trying to get on it then. I think they will make a seperate one incase people do want to play together from different countries.
