Ichi Quests.....

How much fame in Norg do i have to have in order to even get the quests..and what quests can i do to rasie my fame in norg...obviously i'm guessing temshodo quests....but i think i've done a bunch but still no Ichi quest....

Can someone please help me out??!! thanks guys :)

Ok to check your fame in Norg go to "Neptune's Spire" in Lower Jeuno and just as you walk in talk to the NPC on your right and check her prices, look for rice balls if they are 155gil or under you have enough fame for all the Ichi quests in Norg..

To level up fame:

Zinc Ore in Bastok (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=Bastok&fquest=204)

or

Smuggling (bad choice) (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=San%20d%27Oria&fquest=270)

or

Yagudo Necklaces in Windy (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=Windurst&fquest=60)

(all quests repeatable)

If you haven't levelled Norg fame at all.. It's usually about 220 Yag necklaces (farm in Giddeus) sorry I don't know how much Zinc Ore, one person said 80 someone else said 200.. I'd advise going for the Yag necklaces anyway, far easier to farm.

I mined ores in zehrun mines, got about 80 mining and killing worms in there. That took about, a day or so. I bought another 40 off the AH and was able to log the Tonko, Utsusemi, dokumori, jubaku, and kuryami quests.

I think it's 120 zinc ores to get the fame, I read it somewhere. Don't quote me on that though .. .. ..

I did maybe 40 zinc ores, then was able to start getting quests in Norg. The fame caps for Tonko and others are significantly lower than Utsusemi and give a decent amount of fame that builds you up to Utsu, so you really don't need to do the 9 billion yag necklaces that everyone does. Tenshodo quests give like 1/10 of the fame Norg quests do, so its really an extremely inefficient way to build fame.

This weekend after trading 80 zinc ores i was able to open the Smuggling quest. I think i might try it when i get home from work today then maybe i'll be able to do Utsusemi...I'm lvl 16 and I don't have Ichi yet...kinda embarrased...but i have all of the Ele: Ichi spells...and i capped out my Ninjitsu already :rofl:

:eek: omg u n00b...lol. Anyawy ya I did the zinc ore quest to get the first norg quest then I just did the quests in order to cap out my fame (got leviathan n all). When I checked rice ball prices in jeuno they where 156-158 somethin like that but its enough for tonko. then after you do the tonko quest you have enough fame for utsemi.

You can get the Ichi quest at 158 gil per riceball. I did it yesterday.

It took me 90 yag necklaces to go down from 163 to 158 per riceball.
Thats probably like 9 yag necklaces per 1 gil drop? Make it 10 just to be sure.

For Ichi, it's flat out 120 zinc ores (Tested before by many players on mules) I personally tested and got 200 yag necklaces (50 turn-ins) to get enough fame to get Tonko: Ichi and Utsusemi: Ichi. After doing these, you get enough fame for both rusty quests (for 2 more spells) and then you can receive another quest (Damp Scroll) to get yet another spell.

After this, all spells except for Utsu: Ni are drops from certain groups of beastmen. Utsu: Ni is BC onry.

Ok so the 155 g per i think is incorrect. I've traded my share of necklaces and zinc ores to get it down to 155 gil per rice ball. i still cannot get Utsusemi!!!

155g per rice ball should definately be enough. You need level 4 tenshodo fame to get the quest, and with rice balls at 155 you should already be level 5. You're talking to Laisrean in Norg, right?

Yeah i'm a tenshodo member. reason being is becasue i can get to Aht Urgan white gate and i think to be able to do any TOAU missions you first need to do the Tenshodo quest and i can get to Whitegate thru Mhura.

So far I've been able to do the Tonko and Dokumori Kurayami quests. i can't activate the Jubaku, Hojo or Utsusemi quests...Laisrean is the guy walking back and forth underneath the the 2 NPC who do the 10 rusty leggings or subglairia...i think thats the only Laisrean

yeah that's him. odd that you can't get ichi at 155 when I got it at 156. try completing the tonko and two rusty item quests first then. by then you *should* have enough fame for ichi and damp scroll.

wierd question, but have you ever done the "only the best" quest in selbina to raise bastok/sandy fame before? was it before or after you started to accumulate norg fame? (crazy theory time)

I'm pretty sure I got my Ichi scroll with rice balls costing 158. Somepage's fame guide says 160 is good enough.

What does the fame checker in Norg say when you talk to him?

The message you need to get is "Well if it isn' Malevolentemper. Hear yer name lots 'round these parts lately. Why, I remembers when you was nothin' but a measly insect. Thanks t'me advice, you're doin' quite well here in Norg." That's one fame level up from where you are. I don't know how many quests it'll take, but since the rice ball thing isn't working for you, this is the only good gauge.

Yeah...i had to get rice balls down to 151 gil before i could do the Utsusemi quest...
