I was watching the cam today:

...and after a while of watching a Taru run around invisible it stopped by a small oasis in the desert with windmills around it. I /love/ the music here and am already learning it on guitar and piano. I encoded the stream in ogg vorbis format and if anyone can give me more information about this place ( names ) where the music is playing and possibly information on how I can get my hands on some ffxi ost I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is the link, please only download if you think you can "name that tune", I cannot afford too much bandwidth ( right click, save target/link as ):

I just gave it that temporary name until I can find more info about it.

Thank you!
ps, the attached image is one I captured while the music was playing:

That music is probably called "Rabao," as it is that played in the town of Rabao in the Altepa desert. If you want to learn more about the names of places in the Expansion, go here (http://www.playonline.com/ff11/ex1/a_index.html).

You can (and I suggest you do) buy the FFXI OST at www.gamemusic.com , www.animenation.com , or www.cdjapan.co.jp . However, that track is in the OST for the Vision of Ziraat, which will not be released until late May.

Also, none of my programs support the .ogg file type. I guess I'll just have to wait until I see it on the livecam. ^_^"

Winamp supports .ogg files.

If you don't have the plugin, you can download it off of winamp.com

Please, do yourself a favor and not use Winamp.

Go to un4seen.com/ and download the latest version of XMPlay. It was originally designed to be the perfect MSWindows FT-XM player ( also works perfectly wined under Linux2 ), but has also become an excellent ( perfect ) media player of any format supported by any plugin for Sonique/Winamp and the developers of XMPlay.

XMPlay also uses /very/ little resources compared to Winamp or Sonique- which is always good for a gamer ;þ

Winamp 2.91 uses FAR less resources than Winamp 2.8 (and Winamp 2.8 didn't use many to begin with). Not to mention that Winamp 2.91 has all the cool tricks that Winamp 3 is famous for... well, except for skin support. But it does roughly everything else under the sun.

Anyways, Winamp 2.91 is a very fast player. I'd say it's one of the fastest out there. I am able to run it while playing games... with no frame loss or anything. I rather like it ;D

Well that is cool, but it is still bloatware.

winamp.exe - 826KB
xmplay.exe - 199KB

I never really had much love for XMplay, don't ask me why. Winamps always worked just fine...but it's still kinda etchy. Kinda like an OS...You'll never find the perfect OS. :P
