sub drk with war

i was just wondering if i can sun drk with war since my war is 11. i want to take my war to 25 or 30 can i sub drk with war just so i can take my drk higher then get thief.

You can sub any job you want for any main jobs.

But be advised that subbed job won't get any EXP; if your WAR is 11 and your DRK is, say, 4, you'll be WAR11/DRK04, and your DRK's level stays the same no matter how far you level your WAR. You must level as DRK if you wanna level your DRK. So "sub drk with war just so i can take my drk higher then get thief" is something that won't happen.

I see. Sorry for the wrong assumption.

In general consensus, DRK isn't usually picked as a sub for WAR. Instead, until 30, people usually pick MNK, or NIN after 24. This is because /MNK and /NIN are considered to give more benefits than /DRK. For /MNK, those include more HP which is good for tanking, and the ability Boost for increased WS damage, and for /NIN, obviously DW and Utsusemi.

/THF before 30 isn't a good choice, either. The greatest reason to sub THF is Sneak Attack, but SA isn't available until 30 for /THF. For this reason alone, many people wait till 30 to go /THF.


Nevertheless, many useful abilities are lvl 15 ones, and they don't become available until 30 anyways, so picking /DRK isn't a fatal choice. Unlike other melee jobs that almost have to sub WAR for Provoke, needed in earlier levels, WAR natively has that ability, so the subjob choice is wide open.

And the bottom line is, it's YOUR play, YOUR decision.
