Hello
I was recently considering the option of /WAR as a THF and I came to the slot of Shield. Well I've checked some THF/WAR recently as well and I've noticed they all used Tatami Shield. I was just wondering why. I mean the STR+5 sounds yummy and I noticed the Killer Effect thingy, but does that really do better then pure +12 ATK?
Please, any comments ^ ^ Thanks

Pretty much all the thfs in my ls use it for the killer effects. Because they swear that they seem to have gotten intimidation at the time they needed to cast utes, or get offa bolt shot.
Some just like it for the +5 str, while others like it cause it costs $$$. speaking as a bst i like it for the killer effects...

Also, a Size 4 shield protects better than a Size 2 when you actually get hit. If you want to be really sure though, you can use Torzak's damage calculator (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.html?fjob=2;mid=115196014535736450;num=35;pag e=1#115775448224197768). It's pretty accurate and uses Studio Gobli's formulas; just input your stats and a rough estimate of your target's stats (be sure to include mob level though, it makes a huge difference.) I'm pretty sure Attack +12 is slightly better than STR+5, though.

I have a Tatami... I dont really think the killer effects are amazing, but I love it for WS on gods. I have something like +45STR without N Head. Other than that, for exp situations, +12 atk would probably be better.
