And, this might be selfish, but don't put the news front page, or else everyone will know are at least some people will know about it because rarely any of you go to playonline.com because there much new there, so you might not check it to see any new around. But noooo, you have to tell them this news.

Now millions of people will apply, and making an individual not get pick because so many people apply.

If one of you didn't get pick, and you are the one who talked about it, or the front page editor, don't cry that you didn't get it.

Sheesh, now my hopes of getting it, will be tiny because I bet everyone here applied to it, once they saw the news.

But it would still be great if everyone could get in,we all want to get in as the other.

there not much users on ffxi online it says there is a total of 4981 members and if they accepting more than that much there not much of a difference and if you read posts not on front page the link been posted on alot of other bigger sites

Don't you think on it then,don't even think on it for a second,our chances are way too low.There are thousands of people apply'ing and think for a second,square wouldn't send out 5000HDD's for the PS2 users,now would they?If they wanted it back,there would be no way to keep track of it.I expect about 100-150 will get in,tops.And out of around 15,000people,150 isn't alot.
So good luck getting in,there's a pretty high chance noene from this board will make it in.

i think u post this thread a bit late and there are many threads which pple are saying this exact same thing about this already...

and i think square wanted pple to know about the beta... and u can't really stop the news just by not talking about it, really.... if square wants it to be so (and, if u don't know, they do) there's nothing u can do about it.

did u know that square sent out email about beta to all POL users?

and they can easily get more attention by just sending a short email to all the major game sites (if there's still not enough pple that hear about it, in their point of view) or it's as easy as they, by themselves, posting some threads in some boards getting pple to sign up...

it's an public beta, so surely square wants the public to know. if it's only heard by a few then they might even stop the whole thing and assume there's no interest here.

i know how u feel, and sometimes feel the same way too (we ALL wanna play it RIGHT NOW!) but it's just too late to even think/regret about it...


and if u r stress out about too many knowing about beta thing...have u seen the gamefaqs' poll? it should calm u down a bit (there is a thread somewhere about it here)

I think it's better that more people know about this beat. If more people know, and more people sign up, the better Square-Enix will be at accessing FFXI's potential in NA.

And here's the good part, if S-E (Square-Enix) really likes the high amount of people willing to beta test (which I hope they are getting), then they will likely be drooling to let this game out even sooner. Meaning we all get to play this game sooner! ^_^

Yeah....this kinda pissed me off when i read the first post, the topic maker, whoever it was, im too lazy to look back now.

We here at FFxionline are mostly all friends, we like to share out knowledge and privelages with each other, it would be selfish, and betrayal to our local users on the forum if someone found out about the beta, and didn't tell anyone.

As well, it's not like 1 person on this forum set off the whole news about the beta, if anything, if no one found out here, then we'd have stoopid n00bs from like IGN and gamespot get into the beta, and they'd be all asking "Hey, where's all the Japanese lettering??"

So be glad that we knowledgable people know more about the beta, than the stupid people do. (no offense to anyone that is stupid, just an easy word to use)

Yeah, Jherrith has a good point. The person who started this thread really should calm down, and just be quiet. First off it's very silly to try and silence it, like a debate you can't acknoledge what you're trying to stop or disprove. By the simple fact that he made this message board and specifically pointed out the beta test, he just broke rule number 1.

Pointless for him to continue this, as all the replies on here already shows his view isn't winning. If I have a friend that's willing to keep something seacret from me, just because they want it, then I don't want them as a friend. Those kind of people ever time I've meet them have always tried to stab me in the back, I'm very glad the people on here, the good threads about it anyway, are talking about it. Those people are the ones I'd be more willing to trust and they are making sure everyone gets a fair chance.

Making it into the beta test or not does not determine the day that the world is destroyed. It's not like we're the only people who know about the insanely popular Final Fantasy series. Whether we talk about it or not, everyone on this group would've known about the Beta like, 2 days after SquEnix started taking applications. Stop being so selfish dude.
