whm af and subjob mp

Two things I noticed recently. Firstly, the description for my body af says mp+15 but it actually gives me mp+16. Is this a faulty description or is there some sort of latent effect going on?

Secondly, my blm subjob only gives me 98 extra mp over subbing a non-mage job, whereas when the 75 (hume) thf in my ls subbed whm she got 250mp (with no mp gear). What determines how much mp a sub gives? Do I get less because I already have a large mana pool?

Are you perhaps wearing a Fortune Egg or Empowering Mantle (both are MP+1%)?

Don't know what's happening there, that's way more MP than expected. Are you sure your friend didn't have MP merits/eat MP foods?

When my friend lv75 war elvaan subbed whm at 72 he had 140-149mp(Cant remember exact amount but wasnt over 150) from his whm sub so I would expect a hume to get slightly more, maybe 200 or so at 75? Elvaan get less mp than Hume right or am I totally off there? Still dont know why you would only get 98mp though.

Just ran a few queries on a stat calculator. Incredibly odd. If you play a mage job at 75 and sub another mage job, you get less than 100 mp from the sub (assuming taru). However, if you play a nonmage job (i.e. bard) and sub whm, then you get 194 mp (also assuming taru). I know the stat calculators can be off some, but the same discrepancy exists b/w mage w/ nonmage sub and nonmage w/ mage sub.
Here's some numbers:
BLM/nothing Taru lvl 75: 844mp
BLM/WHM Taru lvl 75: 922mp
BRD/nothing Taru lvl 75: 0mp (obviously)
BRD/WHM Taru lvl 75: 194 mp
78 mp gained if you already play a mage job, but 194 mp gained if you don't.
I'm not at home, so I can't ask a few friends to actually double check this info, but that does seem weird and is something I'd never heard of before.

EDIT: and yes Aeolus, Elvaan have less mp than Hume.
