Would this armor set work for xp pt from lvl 30-40 for an Elvaan DRK....

Body, legs, feet, hands of RSE

i'm currently farming so i can buy all of this soo i'm wonderin if this is good. If anyone has better suggestions please post it.

Instead of balance rings +1, you might try either deft rings at 36 or the str rings at the same level. This is assuming you don't want to get sniper's when they become available for use.

The lvl 36 str rings are called puissance rings.
And sniper's are lvl 40, so dont worry about those just yet. If you have the money, you might do like Murphi suggested and get a cpl archer's.

The Balance Rings +1 aren't really necessary. It just gives you one more point to Lightninng protection, and who cares about that?

If you can get your hands on a Venerer Ring, do. It's free, and it's handy. If not, maybe some Archer's Rings, but those may be too expensive. So it's your call.

As far as I can tell (and what do I know), the rest of the gear looks fine. I think.

edit: Or like Caspian said, you can go for Deft @ 36, or STR rings.

Another option would be a Mighty Ring/Vision Ring combo. Just keep in mind that those are charged items, so you won't get your gil back on them.

Dont worry too much about your equipment as long as you get some decent dex and str. At lvls 30-40 your pretty much stuck with what every other DD uses; nation equipment (centurions, etc).

I used a Travellers mantel up to lvl61 because back pieces arent good for DRK untill the Amemet Mantle. And I often avoid latent effect earrings unless I know it works with the subjob I'm using. Latent effects are triggered by your subjob. I'm not sure what triggers those earrings but I went with Bone earrings +1.

Everything else seems fine.

Seriously get yourself some Beetle Earrings+1 for +6atk total. Alot more worthwhile than the two your wearing atm. Not gonna get invites as Drk/Bst.

Bodys probably the best for elvaan at least 30-40. Legs are great as well. Id get yourself some Royal Squires Mufflers for the acc+2 over the acc+1 your RSE hands give. Get 2 Deft Rings+1 once your 36, Elvaan Drks really need the dex for their shocking acc. Get a Spike Necklace as well if you dont have one already and get a Nomads Mantle/+1 for your back as altho not essential to a Drk will benefit you alot more than the Wolf Mantle+1.

If you can, go hunt Stroper Chymes in Ordelles caves for a Shikaree Ring or two. Get an LS friend to help you, they aren't terribly difficult to find. With the bonus +2 to +4 accuracy from the rings, you can experiment with more power foods/equipment in other places. Trimmer's earrings are a definite waste of money. Dark Earring swap-in for Absorbs/Drain/Aspir(if you can afford them) and Beetle/Beetle +1 for everyday wear. Oh and cast your spells! Capped Dark Magic is a very nice feature on a DRK especially when you start Absorbing .

The drop rate on those is obscene. I must be 0/200+ easily :angry: . I'd say if you have the Promies done then Venerer Ring (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/6225) and Jaeger Ring (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/6234) are the way to go. They can be easily obtained with help from your ls. If you don't have the promies done, then grab a couple of deft rings at 36.

I would have to agree with the others on the earring matter, ditch the Trimmer's and grab a pair of Beetle +1s they will last you until 55 when you can get spike earrings. Although the Merc Cpt Belt is a good item I might suggest picking up an Axe Belt (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/2580) and taking a good GA with you if you are /war. Between 30 and 40 GA can be your most powerful weapon (in the right situation) with the Horror Voulge (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/6687) at 37 being far better than the scythes and GS around that level.

You'll probably laugh when you see the price of them. They're 2-3k here on Asura and we're an "expensive" server.

I found the drop rate on this ring actually rather high. When i went w/o TH i was 1/16 or so, but with TH I was 1/6. I was the only one even hunting this guy too, so all 3-4 pops were easy to nab.

Sorry to hear that. We got one to drop after about 10 stopers while hunting keys for RSE. ^^

i just used centurions armor till i got til lvl 36 with my drk then i bought all the silver mail for lvl 36...... for the silver mail i spend at least 50-60k on it so if u dont wanna spend that much on armor i would go for it.

The level 36 silver set doesn't offer anything other than defence. If you have the centurion's set you would be better sticking with that until 40.

To be honest RSE is the way to go for most drks from 27 to the mid 40's (still keeping a few pieces handy for macro swaps). Royal Squire's mufflers are a good purchase with conquest points at level 30. This equipment set is not only the best option but also the cheapest as RSE is questable and CP are easy enough to get.

Starting from 30? Pretty much anything, but make sure you have +def and +VIT as well, because you're expected to (a) sub WAR (b) provoke when needed.

I'd go with STR rings over DEX rings. Balance off with sushi (Tuna is fine for those levels) Add in some +MP because stun and Abs will drain your pool quickly as an Elvaan in your 30s.

I also noticed you made no mention of range attack. Do it. There's an Xbow with +AGI I think. Acid, Bloody and Holy Bolts for the 30s will make a nice addition to any party. Blind bolt if you can afford it all.

For an Elvaan? I think you get access to Royal Squires at level 40 if I'm not mistakened. In fact, for your hands, you should be using the level 30 gloves that give +2 acc, unless there's something else better (I don't really know what's the new stuff out there for those levels)

I think at level 45 you can wear the brigandine, unless there's something better from ToAU (Highly doubt it) At 50s, you can quest for your AF or go for the new ToAU equipment (which are actually very good and there's 2 sets you can look at as a DRK)

Once you hit 60, you're pretty much on your own. Depending on available finance and just how much you like the job, there's just a plethora of things you can use.
