Not to play advocates devil, but many of these people will not pay money for unless they are really desperate. G1-G2 is easy enough to do with a couple of 60-75 people. I personally can't see a level 70 person asking you to solo their testimony, and I think by that time, they'll have a few level 75 friends to help with with it. As for coffer keys and prime avatar fights, more power to you, as long as you can deliver. ^^

Or to play the straight guy, why merc people helped you for free as you came through. We are supposed to be a community always find this disgusting.

Why, charge money for food in your local grocery store?
same concept, no?

I can see tsingtaos point, whenever I give help and am offered a reward, I refuse and tell them to instead pass on the good karma and help someone else. In a way, mercing is a /slap in the face to all those who helped you get to where you are, asking nothing in return.
You can do as you like though, but surely you could make that much cash or more farming, crafting or some other way in less time than those quests would take. Are you doing this for the gil, or because you like helping people and want a nominal fee for your time? I suppose it doesn't matter, but if it's for the gil I'd charge more, if you just like helping people why charge at all?
Anyone who needs what you've listed doesn't need a merc, they need a decent LS, or they'll just get stuck again on the next thing. I suppose that'll be good for your business though ^^ Good luck with it, and I'm sure you can make some people happy by getting past where they are stuck, so it's got to be a good thing.

To be honest Mercing jsut covers a real issue the person in question doesn't have a useful LS. To progress everyone needs one unless they want to do everything in pick ups.
But going back to the point how would you have progressed had people charged you for your G1 or to get your AF1. How about Kazham keys, or maybe your rank 3...
...I just find the whole thing very tastless, it's my opinion so I don't expect everyone to agree by any means.
On that note I'll say right here right now if you need help and I'm free I will do it for nothing.
