I'm mostly too busy lately to play FFXI due to some side consulting I'm doing, but I did manage to log on last night for a few hours and help my LS take down Jailer of Hope, Jailer of Fortitude, and Jailer of Justice. :D

Hiya!
-regarding hojo, its clothcraft and Im more set on alchemy. The reason that is expensive is because of the manticore hair ingredient. It's 14k for 1 hair. 3 hairs are needed for 1 kaginawa stack.

Yeah, tell me about it.
Somthing I would like to ask around is why isnt there much co-lab from all the midgardsormr people in these forums?
For example, people fomr DiV group together to do an event or a Mission of some sort?
I generally think that most people here are rather helpful in their posts, and could really work well together if grouped up say for a promivon run.
I really do think more communication on these boards would help make the game just that much more easier for people, as everyone knows we're not going to get much more help form SE on that part.

Weekend is upon us again.
Before the weekend, buy your consumables, just realized the price goes crazy during this time.
Also, I had a party last night led by someone from the LS: Godz. Isnt that a RMT linkshell?

I'm not saying start a linkshell persay, I'm saying gather together for events. After all we have the forum capiblity here, between the normal and the social lounge.

I donno, I'm still a bit baked at the fact we lost AC again and its taking(taken) them forever to get it back.
We lost mainly this time cause no one went out to rescue the generals, and we got attacked with only 170ish people in sever. I rushed in from getting one of my staging points (funny story there...) to try to help, and watched as General Crummypld get slaughtered by about 40 monsters (after draining my entire mp pool into curing him).

If you don't like the Astral Candescence gone, go get it. :) General consensus at least in my LS is that it's more trouble than it's worth. Useful if it's there, but more useful when it isn't, as it brings XP zones in ToAU back to "normal" instead of packed to the rafters.

Most of my LS doesn't even bother with Beseiged anymore. It's not worth it. Almost an hour of fighting for less than 1000 XP and Imperial Standing that you could have just as easily have gotten by going out and earning some real XP. This totally offsets the +15% bonus from Sanction.
Really the only drawback to having the Candescence gone is the Warp Taru's erratic magic and his once-a-day restriction, and that's pretty easy to work around since there are precious few reasons to stay in Jeuno anymore.
Before you sound off on me for being ungrateful yadda yadda, I should note that I was in the party that won back the Candescence from Arrapago Reef previously, so I'm in a pretty good position to say whether the risks are worth the rewards.
In this case, I'm pretty sure the Japanese players got fed up with having the Candescence gone and retrieved it this time.

It was still in Al Zhabi as of around 2AM EST last night, so unless the Japanese or Euros drop the ball in the mean time it should still be there.

Was people in my linkshell that got it back again. I've been in a party to get it back once. I know people in my LS got it back 2 times as well. Most of the other times the people who got it back were from your LS...
That said, I agree with you. The fight to get it back was fun, but getting to it was like pulling teeth.

Regarding Besiege, how much XP does one usually get? I got around 450xp last night and some shouted they got 500. No one took me in their party so I had to go solo.
KoukiRyu

It depends on the level, I believe the lowest you can get is 200, and the highest is 1000, although I may be off on those numbers, last night was...level 3 or 4, can't quite remember, and I got 500 myself, just spam JA's and die a bunch and you'll get max exp :3

Yeah, unrescued generals is usually at the center of AC losses. For my part I have done a few solo runs out to Arrapago Reef now and rescued General Mihli twice and General Rughadjeen once. THF/NIN, at least a stack of Silent Oil and plenty of Shinobi-Tabi, as well as as many Living Keys and Skeleton Keys as I can bring. There are two major difficulties that affect my ability, as a solo THF, to rescue people held in Arrapago Reef:
1) THF Keys, even Skeleton Keys, are subject to failure rate. I've run out on a couple runs and it's not fun. I think Dark Weather may have a connection to this, every time I've blown through a lot of keys at once trying to open a door that just won't open I've noticed that this weather was up...
2) There are 4 locations I know of that have cells. Two of these locations are easy to get to, and two require true-sight-aggro-dodging (either Soulflayers when entering normally or Imps when entering from Ilrusi Atoll Staging Point). Of the two easy locations, the closest is right next to an Archaic Mirror guarded by two Lamia Palace Guards. If a prisoner is held in this location, well, I won't be the one to rescue them. The aggro-dodging I can handle.
I haven't yet made runs out to Mamook or Halvung so I can't speak much to that. I've noticed that Halvung tends to keep prisoners for a long time...
