Im most likely going to be either a COR or BLU but i think Cor for my first advnced job to check it out and see how i like it. If i enjoy Corsair alot im gunna make it my main (obviosly).
so i was thinking that to save me some money i would buy a few stacks of bullets and during pts get TP with my dagger and then use a gun WS to do dmg or SC with my partner. i really dont want to have to be spending like 12M a lvl just for bullets then having to spend more money on top of that with gear. dont get me wrong if i have to spend the money on bullets just to spam all the time then i will be glad to. but i would rather throw in a shot here and there then blast it away with a WS. But the other thing that i am worried about is if im not constantly spamming RA then my marksmanship skill will not be as high and i wont get the higher lvl WS. o yea and i plan on going COR/RNG. just would like to know if my plan to play COR is a good one or should i just be another head in the crowd and spam it. lemme know what you guys think!

well, it wont cost you 12mil a lvl xD anyways, i think your idea is good, but if you want to lvl the 2nd and 3rd most expensive jobs, you should find a good way to keep gil running ^^, goodluck!

make sure there's room in your bag for seals, get as many of them as you can. BCNM and KSNM, if you get lucky, can net you a nice stack of gil here and there.

It's quite possible, as you're mainly there for buffs, but you may be questioned by party members about your preference of meleeing (excluding WS) over ranged attacks.
Bullets really aren't that bad for Corsair... since the best you can get (excluding the ENM-prize Corsair Bullets) are Iron Bullets. If you want to, you could still get bullets, but spread out shots a bit in between melee. We may not do as much damage as a Ranger with our ranged shots, but our shots still make a significant difference in battle.

Even though COR is considered a support class, you're able to do respectable damage for a PT. TPing solely with your dagger is a pretty pathetic way to play COR, if you ask me.
By all means, go into melee range if you want, but use your gun actively and contribute to the melee by doing some real damage. As with RNG and NIN, if the expense of playing COR is a problem for you, do not play COR at all.
From 15-21, you're going to get pounded on bullet prices at the AH purely due to crafter greed. My advice for those levels is to level RNG ahead a little to get marksmanship levelled. Actively melee with a sword and use bronze bullets sparingly, as the ones at that level do pathetic damage.
22-50 you can buy your bullets from NPCs in Bastok, Rabao and Al'Zhabi. Bastok and Rabao would probably be cheapest since chances are your fame would be better in those places. You'll be spending roughly 10k a stach and the last update allowed you to quiver them (thank god). Bullets are cheap at this level and do good damage, so there's no excuse to hold back. Use them regularly.
50 onward is where the expenses really start to mount. Between COR Hat, Body and Feet and Jaridah hands and legs, you're good on gear for a good while. Iron Bullets are actively price gouged at AH, however, and I've felt the sting of this and regret not levelling Smithing and Alchemy in advance to lower expenses. I'm starting to work on that now.
Iron Bullets are level 22 Smithing and 45 Alchemy. That's actually not too difficult to acheive, but you'll want to take both a little further at least for getting the bullets to HQ so expect to spend a lot of gil to save a lot later. This is yet another place where having levelled RNG will give you perks, as you can scavange firesand for bullets in many areas.

If you want to spend about 60k or less per party do the following.
Use darts from lvl 1-22 (7g a piece (700g a stack) from chocobo stalls), since you’ll have about 100 marks from Rng. *wink wink*
Also use lvl 22 bullets past lvl 70+, since most players (non-eletists) won’t comment on them. However keeping good buffs on people is why you were invited, (and there were no brds lfg). When you make more gil per week then change to iron/corsair.
The reason /rng is good is for the following reasons. More dmg per hit means less tp fed to the enemy. More accuracy and damge for Slugshot.
It’s something you’ll see for yourself sometime past lvl 60 through experimentation.
