View Full Version : Digging: Is this lucky?

Well, I had just harvested Giddeus and was heading to sky, and I had 18 Gyshals while on my choco.

I've never dug before.

I go, and everything's fine and dandy. I use up a few and get 3 pebbles and a flint stone.

I time my dig for curiousity's sake, and it's down to 11 secs or so. Certainly not the 16 from level 1.

Is this weird?

Very, I've expended mabye 75 stacks of Greens and I'm still level 1.

Grats on getting 2 though...

EDIT: The 4 seconds while your digging is part of the 16 - If you started counting after you finished digging that would land you at 12, as as you call it ~11. This could be a possibility?

I'll check it out soon. :) Thanks.

Okay so...

Picked up two stacks, starting digging on my way back to sky.

Got pebbles, a Bone Chip, Copper Ore, Flint Stones and Insect Wings.

It was taking 13-15 seconds, but apparantly, I got the bone chip, so I should've leveled, according to Arylie.

Explanation anyone?

13-15? Eaither your horrible at countingor that means your still level one. As for the bone chip... No one, esxept for SE knows how you level up. Some thing you need to use a certain amount of Greens, others think it's random, and some thing you need to dig up a certain item (hence Arylie's guide)

Personally I think the certain item thing has been all but disproven, as chocobo diggers should be able to level up ANYWHERE, not just where you can dig those items up. And how did people level past levl 2 pre-RoTZ, wasn't Rattan Lumber intoduced then?

I use this macro for digging (I'm level 1, too, btw):

Zone:
/wait 44
/p {Dig}! <call15>

Dig:
/dig
/wait 16
/p {Dig}! <call15>

Dig2:
/dig
/wait 11
/p {Dig}! <call15>

I use the Dig2 macro periodically to see if I have levelled (I haven't).

On another note... Did I mention that I think this new Chocobo digging is going to be a lot cooler than it was despite the fact that the old hats are upset about losing their monopolies on Orichalcum and Philosopher's Stones?

/em can hardly contain his schadenfreude.

I envision a world where people can actually drink Panacaea and metallic leaves are more than just junk to sell to merchants. A world where goldsmiths might not get sh__ on every time they make something unless it happens to be HQ1 or higher... aah, possibilities.
