The requirement is 128, but thats usualy for low standard, I'd say about 256 would be good. But depending on your MHz and your video card, don't add more RAM untill you've tried the game.

I got a benchmark score of +1000 by upgrading from 256mb SDram to 512mb DDR. I'm not sure if the big performance incrase was due to more ram or more bandwidth.

Personally I think 256mb is not enough, remember the OS is using it aswell. XP sux a lot of memory, before I upgraded to 512mb my hard drive was always going nuts because I always ran out of ram and the PC started to use virtual memory :(.
