I know it might be illegal to make this kind of thread, but I searched posts made about this topic and I found myself bewildered by one step of the process to convert ENG POL -> JP POL.
http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/frequently.asked.questions/31625-converting.your.na.ffxi.into.japanese.ffxi.html
This is the guide to converting, I have the JP POL file folder to install. But here is the problem, I don't have an image of the CD so it asks me to insert the CD-ROM into my drive.
I remember I had already done this entire conversion about a year ago and it worked, I just can't remember how I was able to get POL installed without having the CD. Any help is much appreciated, and if admins must close this thread then I totally understand in advance.

I'm not really sure this is something we should be promoting. I'll leave this topic unlocked for now, with the stipulation that anyone making use of such techniques can and should own both the JP and EN versions of FFXI, and that use and repercussions from this are entirely the responsibility of the user.
Messing around in the registry in Windows is never a smart idea unless you know exactly what you're doing, and you can cause irreparable harm to your system if you aren't paying attention to what you're doing (read: might have to reinstall Windows, or in extreme cases, reformat your entire drive).

Pehraps its a good question to post in the "Ask SE" section, though it isn't really Developer question, so maybe not.

POL should install just fine from harddisk; just make sure to run the setup program instead of things like autorun.exe

Well that's the thing, when I open the polsetup.exe file and click on the install button a messege telling me about the CD comes up
If you have the install files, burn the files to a CD and run it off there.

I already tried that aswell, to no avail. The folder contains the following files...
polsetup
PolSystemInfo
SysInfo
SysInfo.dll
SysInfo.vxd
I wrote it on a CD-R with 700MB and it works fine when I open the file from the drive itself, but it doesnt load. Any ideas?

My JP POL install disk has:
./Autorun.inf
./cdicon1.ico
./DirectX81
./DirectX81/BDA.cab
./DirectX81/BDANT.cab
./DirectX81/cfgmgr32.dll
./DirectX81/DirectX.cab
./DirectX81/DSETUP.dll
./DirectX81/dsetup32.dll
./DirectX81/dxnt.cab
./DirectX81/dxsetup.exe
./DirectX81/setupapi.dll
./PlayOnline
./PlayOnline/0x0411.ini
./PlayOnline/Data1.cab
./PlayOnline/instmsia.exe
./PlayOnline/instmsiw.exe
./PlayOnline/isscript.msi
./PlayOnline/PlayOnline Viewer and Tetra Master.msi
./PlayOnline/setup.exe
./PlayOnline/Setup.ini
./PlayOnline/Setup.lnk
./setuppol.exe
./SysInfo.dll
The top-level setuppol.exe crashes on my Win64 system; but PlayOnline/setup.exe just works and does not ask for any CD.
