Hi I am coming back to final fantasy after leaving for a year and half to visit WoW and i am having issues trying to update FFXI, i have opened all my ports and have tried all the other things like dmz and static IP i would really like to play can anyone help me? I have a Linksys router WRT54GX4 and i updated the firmware to 1.00.17 and i even turned off all my firewalls and removed my Antivirus, still nothing. Anyway thank you for any help.

Have you tried reinstalling the game? I don't know a whole lot, but that seems to do it with most applications.
