Hey, I have a dumbish question. While I play XI, I never use my mouse, as it messes with the camera and is jsut ah assle IMHO, but I was told in a PT today that if you use the mouse it makes things much easier. Asking those of you who use mice, how do you Balance the mouse and the keyboard. I mean, I prefer targeting with the keyboard and such because I don't have to stop typing while playing, but I am wondering how many people actually do use their mice in the game. *is done rambling*

Firsty, I turn off the screen edge panning so the camera doesn't go wild while I'm using it, located in the game's config menu. Secondly, I turn on the hardware cursor for smoother mousing around, located in the config menu outside the game.
It can be helpful at times, but I mostly use it out of habit now. It's nothing really special, and it's actually easier to use the AH with a keyboard or controller. It seems like the buttons lag a lot less and it's harder to accidentally throw in a couple extra 0s somewhere by accident.

i once use mouse to dia on cassie with others camping it ;p
But i hardly use mouse...
I only use it when I want to move the camera while I'm locked onto something. For some reason the keyboard camera controls cease to work when something is locked.

The mouse scrolls the Conquest map a lot faster than the keyboard or controller. Probably the regular map, too.

Good for:
Claiming monsters (in crowded places)
Targetting stuff/people in dynamis
Targetting the AH
Basically to target things that are in crowded places, much better than having to scroll between dozens of clutter that can be on your screen

I feel so retarded. I didn't know about turning off that screen edging thing. It's like a whole new world!

I was hoping you could turn that off. Now my screen won't jitter around like it is having a epilectic seizure.

/ta "namehere" is what i always used.
P.S. When you're locked onto something, you can change your viewpoint using SHIFT-scroll keys (but only within a limited cone).
As for myself, ingame I usually unplug the mouse and throw it in the desk drawer. One time I forgot to take it out again when I shutdown, went browsing around the internet and played pinball for two hours without noticing I didn't have the mouse plugged in.
