Hey guys i Decided to put a money making guide for newb 15 and under.

1. When your out killing things and they drop crystals(fire,Wind,Earth)go to the auction house and sell them for 300gil each.
2. When your From sandy and you around level 10+ go get some seeds from snaplings and sell them at the auction house.

2)B. You could also buy a Gardening pot for 1k and go to your mog house and garden but dont forget to cheack up on your plants.(remember your mog house can only hold up to ten pots)

Tips:
Before im about to log of for FFXI for the night what i do is Put up my Crystals for auction and when i wake up in the moring my money (or whatever didnt sell which is rare and its in your delivery box in your mog house)

-when your going to sell an item to a vender think am i getting all the money i can out of this item.

If you guys have anything to add to this please Post it

I prefer to kill monsters for drops and sell them on the Auction house for the maximum price possible. But hey, if selling individual crystals works for you, then go for it! :D

steal it from other people.I prefer selling Taru into slavery to raise my initial capital. It's not very easy though. They take up very little space, but are also terribly lazy, so they make very poor slaves.

OP: Just sell some items that don't sell well on the AH to NPCs and you're good to go. Plus, your initial 60gil should enable you to place a stack of like, Wind Crystals up or something to raise a bit of money to get you started.

One of this things I did was:

1. Set up a character on sandy and in windy.
2. On your charater in windy, go to the fishing guild where you can buy insect paste for around 30- 60gil a piece.
3. Get either a carbon or a hume fishing rod and send it at the auction house to your character in sandy.
4. Go to mog house with sandy character, delivery box, withdrawl the goods and head to the docks in Port Sandy.
5. Fish until you catch 12 moat carp, they will also increase your fishing skill.
6. Head to the Auction House and sell them from 8-20k depending on the demand.

Any easy 9-15k profit a stack!!!!

you can buy cure scrolls for 60gil and sell them for 1000gil in sandoria.

also if anyone has cheap fire crystals...

and the above poster is correct that insect paste & fishing is quite a good way to make money. if you need insect paste, try to find a cook. we can craft 12 stacks for much less than you could buy them for from the guild.

60gil per paste from the guild = 720gil per stack.

1 stack of earth crystals, 1 stack of little worm, 1 stack of millioncorn, 1 stack distilled water = roughly 1900gil. but that's 12 stacks of paste, so you average roughly 160gil per stack of paste.

but of course you have to be friends with a cook, and we are angry and antisocial, so sometimes you'll get flour thrown at you. GARHH!! (j/k)

You can also buy Cure Scrolls for 60g in Sandoria or Bastok. But you can definitely buy things from NPC vendors and sell them on the AH for more to people who are are too lazy to buy from the NPC.

A nice little moneymaker in sandy is Knights Minne, from the guy standing in the little field next to the choco stables. Buy for 80ish gil, sell for thousands.

Hm.. Making gil as a brand new character:

1. get signet (and get it refreshed when it expires) from the gate guard so that creatures that you kill drop crystals. Remember to 'autosort' while you are outside the city gates in order to 'stack' like items ^~

2. Though it will seem ridiculous, sometimes a NPC merchant close to a AH will sell a item for less than the selling price there. They may tend to be slow movers - such as scrolls - but it sure helped me at the start.

3. Start a character in another city - maybe, both other cities. This gives you more Mog House space, more AH slots, and the ability to 'delivery box' items that are more available elsewhere. Also, you may buy & sell where the price is best.

4 Once you get to where you are gaining income beyond the sale of crystals, I recommend leveling up a craft skill. Or, at least, do something such as mining, or fishing (or w/e).

5. Plan ahead (even before you logon) what you would like to do. Check a web-site or two - such as ffxiah.com - to find out pricing, crafting recipes, etc.
